Methylprednisolone Acetate HCPCS Realignments Effective April 1, 2024, CMS has deactivated of three methylprednisolone acetate HCPCS codes: J1020, J1030, and J1040. These HCPCS codes are being replaced with a new HCPCS code: J1010 (Injection, methylprednisolone acetate, 1 mg). Effective April 1, J1020, J1030, and J1040 will no longer be billable and providers should use the new HCPCS, J1010, to bill methylprednisolone acetate. It is very common to fill glass containers such as vials with parenteral drugs. These types of drugs that are oxygen sensitive need to be produced and filled with a low concentration of residual oxygen in the headspace of the container. In many cases a nitrogen overlay is used during the aseptic filling process. What Gasporox can provide is a fast and easy solution that allows you to perform accurate analysis of the headspace on vials that contain parenteral drugs with our GPX1500 Vial. Our specific vial holder is installed without using any additional tools. Simply put, the vial is placed in the vial holder.
