Extremely excited to share that Magic Circle won Discord's App Pitches competition, for best chill/party game! 🎉🎉 (X-posting from Twitter in case you missed this news last week!) 4 quick thoughts on why & where we go from here! 🧵 1) ICYMI: Discord announced a new SDK to allow anyone to create games that run *inside* Discord on desktop & mobile. This is a massive opportunity: 200M other young gamers live inside Discord... now they'll be able to play games directly in their group chats/servers. (cc Joshua Lu and Andrew Lee who know what's up: https://lnkd.in/ecvvGadp 2) So, I cancelled our Slack subscription. I moved the company over to Discord & we raced to adopt their SDK. We had a big leg up: we had already built a delightful, web-based party game platform, and soft-launched it to thousands of players IRL at venues like breweries. Plus: I've been a Discord power user for years. I've built bots, created and scaled servers to 1000s of users (including moderating them 🫠)... it's my most-used messaging app for the past couple of years now 3) We had a first playable in a few days, and in a few weeks, it was already the best way to play Magic Circle: 🗣️ avatars that talk when you talk 🎟️ if you have a Discord account, you already have a Magic Circle account 🚀 no need to leave your chat app to play! & much more 4) It's VERY early days — we're racing to the starting line, and i'm insanely excited about what we're building next If you want to try out Magic Circle in Discord today, you can play in Discord Town Hall, and soon, everywhere :) [0] https://lnkd.in/e8GvuJK8

Less than 2 weeks after its Early Access launch, Dungeon Clawler has sold over 100,000 copies on all platforms! Some data (courtesy of Stray Fawn Studio, more info here: https://lnkd.in/dF3j3Eqs): - Steam is 78% of sales, Mobile is 22% (with iOS a bit over Android) - 10k people bought the supporter package on Steam - The game cost Stray Fawn Studio 200-250k to make (including porting costs) and has already made it's money back twice. - We have 1000+ ratings/reviews each on Steam, iOS and Android. On Android and iOS the rating is amazing 5 stars and 4.8 stars. Here's the latest update from the low-poly indie game "infinidrift", described as an "arcade roadlite drifting game" by its solo developer. Coming to Android and iOS, the title uses procedural maps, will include police chases, and may even get a PC release if things go well. Excited to share that I've successfully ported my first game, FlampyBirmd, to the Android platform! This project allowed me to dive deep into the built-in Android game development kit in the Unity Engine. Through this experience, I learned a lot about how games work on handheld devices and how to implement touch controls on a touchscreen. Our initial meeting, held at the unconventional hour of 9 PM, unfolded into a lengthy discussion as clarity eluded both parties. The client's request? "I need an app where users can answer questions". A simple statement, yet cloaked in abstraction, it sparked the genesis of a profound project. Undeterred, we retreated to contemplate, dissect, and innovate. Collaborating closely with our client Tom Godfrey, we meticulously crafted each screen, translating abstract concepts into tangible designs. And after relentless effort and unwavering dedication, we proudly unveiled the fruit of our labor to the world. Allow me to introduce you to our brainchild - a captivating game where users pose a single question daily, engaging in lively discourse with a limit of 100 responses per day.
