Dozens of Huntington High School spring season varsity athletes have captured New York State Scholar Athlete Award honors after maintaining academic grade averages of 90 or better during their sport season. Nine individual Huntington spring season varsity squads claimed state scholar athlete team recognition, including Unified basketball, girls’ track and field, boys’ tennis, softball, baseball, girls’ lacrosse, boys’ lacrosse, girls’ badminton and girls’ golf. To receive team recognition, the team’s average GPA for 75 percent of the roster must be equal to or greater than 90.00. Higher athlete GPAs can be used offset lower ones. However, only students with a 90 or above receive scholar athlete pins, even if a student with a lower GPA was used in the calculation. #education #highschool #hufsd #huntington #publiceducation #school #students

AAMUSTED Participates in Maiden Minor GUSA Championship in Wa The Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) was one (1) of the seven (7) public universities that participated in the maiden Minor Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Championship at the Simon Diedong Dombo-University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS), Wa in the Upper West Region from May 2-6, 2024. AAMUSTED deployed a well-drilled team of 22 student-athletes and five officials for the Championship. The Minor Championship is GUSA’s effort to promote lesser-known sports in Ghanaian universities. The Wa games, thus, focused on Ampe, Arm Wrestling, and Tug-of-War. GUSA found those three games easy to organise at a relatively cheaper cost and with the potential to win laurels for the nation on the international stage. read more>> bit.ly/maiden-minor-gusa

Youth football power ⚽🔥 Physical training is crucial for youth football players as it lays the foundation for their physical development and performance on the field 🎯 ▫️It improves the ability to generate power and speed in different situations on the field, such as sprinting, jumping, and changing direction rapidly. This translates to improved performance in matches, where explosive movements are frequently required ⚽ ▫️It addresses weaknesses and imbalances that leads to improved ability to withstand the physical demands of the sport and maintain optimal biomechanics during the game 🛡️ ▫️It's vital for long-term physical development. By starting at a young age and progressively challenging the body across different force and velocity curve ranges, players can build a strong foundation of athleticism that can be further refined as they advance in their football careers. This not only improves their immediate performance but also enhances their potential for future success at higher levels of competition 💫 #futbolas #football #soccer #sportas #komanda #youth #power #plyometrics #speed #footballstrength #soccerfitness #gym #treniruote #treneris #Be1 #jonava https://lnkd.in/dt7z5vQx
