Work Experience recognition!- Supporting Future Talent in Cardiff! I'm thrilled to share that over the past year, I have had the incredible opportunity to support 74 students aged 15-16 in gaining valuable work experience across the Cardiff area. Guiding these young individuals through their first steps into the professional world has been a rewarding journey, filled with numerous successes and memorable moments. From fostering personal development to providing hands-on learning experiences, here are some highlights: Personal Development: Treated each student as a responsible young adult, helping them build confidence and maturity. Taught new skills, such as braiding in a hair salon, and provided insight into professional environments and work processes. Professional Insights: Supported students in gaining a better understanding of political processes and operations. Exposed students to big business operations, allowing them to learn from experienced professionals. Creative Contributions: Encouraged students to contribute their creative ideas, fostering an environment of innovation and engagement. Business Experience: Providing valuable opportunities to see how a business operates on a business level. Students had the opportunity to be part of recruitment, business management strategy and Human Resources and Customer Services. Working with Children: The students enjoyed the process of creating bonds and supporting children's learning needs, observing significant growth and development in the field of childcare. Hair Salon Experience: Provided valuable exposure to the salon environment, including hands-on learning in washing hair and understanding BIAB treatments and even some gaining a weekend job from the work experience! Customer Service: Demonstrated excellent customer service practices by having direct contact with customers and experienced staff. I am now eager to bring my skills, qualities, and experiences to a new company. My commitment to fostering growth, providing high-quality support, and creating positive work environments is unwavering. If your organisation values dedication and innovation, I would love to connect and discuss how I can contribute to your team. Feel free to reach out if you have any opportunities or know of a company that could benefit from my expertise! #WorkExperience #ProfessionalDevelopment #Cardiff #CareerGrowth #YouthEmpowerment #CustomerService #HairSalon #Childcare #PoliticalInsights #BigBusiness #NewOpportunities

For social work month this year, I decided to host something to honor those of us who don’t feel we fit into the traditional role or box of “social worker.” Myself and three other panelists, all with different levels of social work background in education and practice, will be exploring the transferable skills of the profession, hard conversations around shame, and carving our own paths in the field of social work. For social work students unsure of where they want to land once school is over, this is a great way to get several perspectives different than you’re hearing in class. It’s also a safe space to ask questions and explore how to pursue a non traditional path yourself ! For anyone in the field thinking of making a shift out of a “traditional” role, this is a place to feel validated and share in like minded community without judgment. And for professors and clinicians in traditional roles, we welcome you just as much to the conversation! We all contribute to the assumptions and expectations of tradition, and so the more we share with one another, the healthier and more natural these conversations become!! The right answer is b) Educational Researcher Here's why Education Researcher is the correct choice: Education Researchers are professionals who specialize in studying various aspects of education, including teaching methods, curriculum development, educational policies, and the impact of educational interventions. They conduct research studies to gather data, analyze trends, and generate insights that can inform educational practices and policies. Education Researchers typically work in academic institutions, research organizations, government agencies, or educational consulting firms. Let's break down why the other options (A, C, D) are not correct: A) School Nurse: School nurses focus on providing health services and promoting wellness among students. While important in school settings, their role is not specifically related to educational research. C) Academic Advisor: Academic advisors assist students in academic planning, course selection, and career exploration. They provide guidance on educational pathways but are not primarily involved in conducting research on educational practices and policies. D) Educational Technician: Educational technicians, also known as instructional support staff or paraprofessionals, provide assistance to teachers in classroom settings by implementing educational programs and supporting student learning. Their role is more focused on instructional support rather than research. Therefore, among the given options, B) Education Researcher is the career that specifically involves conducting research on educational practices and policies.
