Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same pattern of disobedience. Hebrews 4:11 We all know we need to rest. We’ve attended #mentalhealth and #selfcare seminars, webinars, and workshops that emphasized the importance of #worklifebalance. Yet we are more burned out than ever, unhealthier than ever. We got extra pounds that we don’t want and less energy than we’d really like. We are being disobedient!. Is it a pattern in your life? How is it working out for you? WE NEED TO REST! Since I started #HR Avenger and made helping people a business, I’ve prioritized honoring the #sabbath. I dedicate one day a week to #rest, #refresh, and #recharge. Today, I’m helping people for my #soul. Whether it’s teaching people the fundamentals of self-care and habit development to achieve #wellness which helps organizations maximize #productivity and boost #engagement, OR Giving #hope to broken people I give it everything that I got! I pour out my cup to fill up theirs. Serving the community fills my cup back up. But Mike, isn’t that work? No, it’s sacrifice. I’m surrendering my time, energy, and love. Paradoxically, surrender is the way to strength.

#BreakItFriday #BreakForHealth #SelfCareEdition #WellsFargo encourages employees to look at the month of September as our #welllife well-being month, providing articles to remind us of the information and resources we have as part of our benefits. This includes helping employees with support for our physical, emotional and financial well-being. Many of us devote our time to work, family, close friends, extended relatives but often we are committing that time in larger chunks than we devote to ourselves. The things we are putting off won't just disappear; much like kicking a can down the road, when we walk along that path and find the can again, it's not going to look the same way we saw it before. More than likely we postponed something that was easier to address when we first encountered it, but perhaps timing or interest in addressing it convinced us to delay resolving it. Now that we are face to face, it's a larger problem, or a more complicated solution, and we most likely are regretting our previous actions when we put it off. Minimizing or not prioritizing our Financial or Emotional health will impact our physical health, for some individuals this ends up us using our bodies to physically consume issues that are not 'tangibly' physical but we shoulder them that way. We may internalize stress, or suffering, or loss in a way that physically does not allow our body to operate at its best. We are humans, with a variety and mixed bag of different unique aspects, personalities, talents, viewpoints, passions, internal drives and morals. Each of us must find the "right path for ourselves" to address those things that we internally know we are procrastinating on and make them instead the main priority. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this previously, but we have but one life (and for those lucky ones, a second life, and the really lucky ones, more than 2!) to treasure and make the best of, not just for those that we love and care for, but for our own internal set goals. While we strive to give to others, in our time, our service, or our money; we are not at our best and 100% if we do not make sure that we take care of "self" to take care of others when they need it most. #BePresent #BePrepared #BmoreForSelf #BmoreForOthers #WellBeing #WellThought #SelfRespect #ElevateYourBetterYou
