Now more than ever, it is critically important for charities to seek help managing their finances. Here’s why… Over 5,000 charities have signed a letter to chancellor Rachel Reeves. Recently announced increases in employer national insurance contributions will create an extra bill of £1.4bn per year for the sector. It’s even been described as “the biggest shock to the sector since the pandemic”. Charities across the country are already struggling. Theyre juggling a triple threat of rising demand, escalating costs, falling funding. This additional cost, for which there is no headroom in budgets to cover, will be devastating. 👉🏻 What are your thoughts on this? #charitysector #charity #thirdsector #ukbudget

Managing financial risk is like wearing a seatbelt in a car. You wear it to be safe but you hope you never need it. In the unfortunate event something bad happens, and it was discovered the appropriate safety steps hadn’t been taken, it doesn’t look good. For charities, it’s these kind of events where risks become realities that can be damaging for reputation and trust. But this doesn’t even have to be the story, because you’re the author… 👉🏻 If you’re a proactive charity leader and want your charity to be ahead of the curve, send me a DM today. ♻️ Repost this to help charities strengthen their finances and continue doing fantastic work to serve their communities. #financeleadership #charity #charitysector #thirdsector #riskmanagement #charityfinance #ukcharities #nonprofitfinance #outsourcedfinance

We Brits are a charitable bunch - but the issues of the last few year and rising cost of living means that worthy charities are still not having an easy time of it. 🤪 If you are a UK taxpayer, did you know that when you give to charity and tick the gift aid box, the charity gets more than just the money you give? 🤩 The government adds 25% extra to this so your £20 becomes £25 for them. 🎉 If you are a higher rate taxpayer (rule of thumb is that you are earning £50,000+) then you can also claim tax relief on your charity gift aid payments. In this example, you would get £5 back from the government too. 👍 Is it time to tap into your charitable side? 💝😊 #charity #nonprofit #donate #love #fundraising #community #support #help #volunteer #giveback #fundraiser #ngo #socialgood #donations #makeadifference #helpingothers #nonprofitorganization #accountants #hjpchartered

Do you work with a club, not-for-profit, or charity? Are you sure on their status for tax purposes? Believe it or not, not all not-for-profits are not taxable. Plus, not-for-profits that are not charities, have new reporting obligations to the ATO each year. Listen to Episode 39 to hear about this. #tax #notforprofit #charity #acnc

Recently I've started working with a few more charities and not for profits (NFP). It's a sector that I really enjoy working with and one that we could all learn from... 💩 Everyone gives a sh*t. There aren't many people who get involved with charities unless they genuinely care about what the charity does. So everyone works together to make positive things happen. 💹 Financial information is vital. Whether it's funding applications, reporting back when you've spent the funding, or just making sure the reserves don't drop too low, NFP's have to be on top of their numbers. ❤️ They have clear values and a common goal. It's always clear who they want to work with and why, which means that everyone knows what's needed and why they do what they do. 🔮 They plan for the future. When you have a responsibility to maintain reserves and to make sure your services are available to those who need them, you can't leave things up to hope. You need a detailed plan. It's awesome to see the amazing work that they do and to play a small part in assisting with that makes my heart happy. Do you work with any charities that could use a hand with their numbers? #Wellbalanced #NumberGeek #Charities

🤝“𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬” remains the most important trust factor for charities. According to the “Research and analysis on Public trust in charities by the Charity Commission for England and Wales”, there is agreement across all social sectors that charities must do the following to demonstrate trustworthiness: 💵 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 – with donations being spent highly efficiently, prioritising the services, activities, and people that advance the charitable cause. 🌍 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (have an impact) through their work. 🏛️ C𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 in every aspect of their work. By adhering to these principles, charities can build and maintain the trust of their supporters and the communities they serve. #charityCRM #nonprofit #trust #crmsoftware
