Carly Stanley CF Some early warning signs: ‘Love bombing’ - over the top attention; also blurred boundaries/lack of taking responsibility for one’s own emotions and saying things like ‘don’t push my buttons’, ‘look what you made me do’…. And any pressure to do something you don’t want to - that might be sexual, but might be other things too. Everyone needs to feel completely free and safe to make they’re own decisions, especially when it comes to your body

And many of these signs are well hidden. Abusive men are sometimes quite charming and persuasive. Another warning sign is when a man tries to alienate a woman from her family, friends and colleagues. Of course, he will say that this is in the name of love. Love is never abusive!
