💧💧Today, we celebrate World Water Day 💧💧 💧Water is intrinsic to every aspect of life. In Arizona, we understand the value of water especially while enduring a drought that has lasted more the 20+ years. As we approach another year of a water shortage on the Colorado River, dwindling groundwater supplies, and a hotter, drier climate, taking proactive steps to address our strained water resources is vital. ‘Water is life’ is a common phrase coined by our indigenous brothers and sisters, and this important message has been spread throughout the Southwest. 💧The theme for World Water Day in 2024 is water for peace. Water can create peace or spark conflict. Water can lead us out of crisis. Prosperity and peace rely on water. Collaboration and cooperation between all water users is crucial to maintain our water sources sustainably for ourselves and the environment. 💧The Phoenix Hub invites you to reflect on what water means to you today. We also encourage you to look to the future and how you can contribute to safeguarding our water resources. 💧Water for peace. Water is life. 💙

Just under two months ago, I joined the corporate development team at One Tree Planted. It's been so inspiring to see the impact this relatively new organization has had in just 10 years of existence, planting 135 million trees across 82 countries to help fight climate change, restore ecosystems, and support local communities. What is it with Sparrow Day? It is an honour and raises awareness about the plight of these beloved birds whose populations are dwindling at an alarming rate. You must have known its importance from the movie - 2.0 The humble sparrow has been our delightful companion for centuries, but environmental degradation now threatens their very existence. Observed annually on March 20th, World Sparrow Day serves as a clarion call to individuals, governments, and scientific communities worldwide to unite and implement decisive measures to conserve sparrows and safeguard their natural habitats. This year's poignant theme, "I LOVE Sparrows," reflects our profound affection for these feathered friends and aims to inspire a broader movement dedicated to ensuring their survival. Their presence enriches our lives, and their well-being is inextricably linked to the health of our entire ecosystem. While World Sparrow Day traces its origins back to 2010, the urgency of this cause has only intensified with each passing year. Sparrows, once among the most ubiquitous birds on our planet, now face the grim reality of potential extinction due to the relentless march of urbanization and habitat loss. Being aware will help to make necessary steps to protect them.

Nature is indeed beautiful! Let’s learn from nature, all over again! Let’s mimic nature also in our use of natural materials! Materials that do not persist, and are not toxic! Materials that are made from renewable carbon, mimicking natures processes. Materials that are functional and fit into our current waste management (I like regeneration) infrastructure. Materials that allow more organic matter collection and therefore more organic fertilizer use! Lets learn from Nature about Innovation!
