As AI drives many data center operators toward liquid cooling, its impact extends beyond just cooling CPUs and GPUs. Taking a storage-focused approach, StorageReview.com’s Brian Beeler tested Solidigm’s D5-P5336 SSDs to explore how by combining liquid cooling technology and efficient SSDs data centers can reduce server power consumption. The Takeaway? Switching to DLC buys a power budget that allows the server to be filled with double the SSDs for the same power footprint as an air-cooled server. This means storage capacity increased from 737TB to 1,474TB — and potentially more depending on the workload.
