To be a good human is to grasp each and everything Haben Girma is speaking on. Be intentional when interacting with anyone that identifies as having a disability. Exude patience and authentic understanding. Not having a disability is not a ticket to be ignorant to others accommodations. Just like you take an interest in learning culture, new languages or new subjects we can do the same in this area.
Take time to savor the wisdom of disabled family members, colleagues, and friends. Here’s an excerpt from the White House Disability Pride Month Convening. The full video is on the White House YouTube channel. Descriptive Transcript: https://lnkd.in/g3dAE4tR #DisabilityPrideMonth

4moSo much wisdom in what you say, Haben. And people forget that we are always innovating, always solving, always thinking how to approach a problem because that’s what we have to do. This gives us insights and wisdom that is not tapped into, respected or acknowledged.
