What a wonderful event and lunch today at the Monash Women’s Business Network with my colleague Shubha Rao and the rest of our firm’s girl gang (they missed the pic). Met so many awesome local women kicking goals in business and was inspiring to hear our speaker from Kandu on the topic of sustainability. My lesson - if you want to make real sustainable change, choose action that aligns with your values and focus on embedding good practice at the heart of your business. Women in sustainability, what do you think? Is this the way to rise fast in an organisation, or a poisoned challice that the men won't touch? One thing we see is that these roles often come with a lack of hard-power, and a lack of real budget. The savviest operators here know how to navigate using soft-power, influencing and collaborating across teams to unlock resources. https://lnkd.in/ghj7bzK4

Why businesses need a level playing field to develop the circular economy. At last year’s Festival, Jane Martin, CEO at City to Sea, explained how legislation can give companies confidence to invest in circular business models. Martin spoke on the Women in Circular Panel: A Circular Approach to the Bottom Line panel where she also told delegates that circular businesses need to be confident that when they come to market, people are ready and an excited to engage with them. #FOCE #circulareconomy #sustainability
