"Transformation and innovation through circular economy" was the topic of the Impact Days 2024 hosted by CEOs FOR FUTURE and Climate Lab in Vienna on 5 June. As a committed supporter of the CEOs FOR FUTUTRE initiative, Christian Abl (Managing Director Reclay Austria) once again gave a keynote speech at this event. He drew attention to the fact that changes in consumer behaviour are also changing or must change the behaviour of companies. This makes it even more important that, among other things, very short-lived packaging materials are also collected and fed back into the cycle. “We know that climate protection needs a circular economy, but if secondary raw materials markets stall, then the circular economy will also stall. That is why it is so important to bring together all stakeholders from society, business, administration and politics - this approach increases the chance for solutions to be found and realised.” After the various keynote speeches, all participants discussed the role of research and funding, the increased use of biogenic raw materials, the development of secondary raw material markets and the central role of the manufacturing industry. The focus was on practical examples of success, the potential for expanding the circular economy and the necessary framework conditions.
