A successful ITMA Asia 2024 closed its door. Stephan Kehry from Erhardt+Leimer GmbH summarizes as follows: "ITMA ASIA 2023 showed two things: the great potential of Asian textile machine manufacturers on the one hand and the lack of customers on the other. One year later, the current edition of ITMA ASIA confirmed the supremacy of the Asian competition, although more customers seemed to have found joy in investing again. Accordingly, Erhardt+Leimer's expectations in the run-up to the trade fair were rather muted, but were raised to a cautiously optimistic level after the first few days. The 90m² stand was well attended for almost the entire time and the almost 20 employees of the long-established German company had their hands full answering the enquiries of well over 200 visitors and presenting appropriate solutions in the fields of automation, sensor technology and energy saving. EXCERPTS: China is increasingly becoming an attractive hub for German companies to carry out research and development (R&D) to remain competitive in both local and global markets, a survey by the German Chamber of Commerce in China showed. And with 69 per cent carrying out development in China, the findings indicated a trend towards localising R&D and enhancing product competitiveness in a push to expand customer bases. “German companies are investing in local innovation and strategic partnerships with customers and suppliers to stay competitive in an intense and dynamic market environment”. “This will shorten research cycles and accelerate time to market.” German original equipment manufacturers for electric vehicles, for example, take between 36 months to 48 months to supply products, however, it takes Chinese manufacturers only 18 months. https://lnkd.in/gWHh7ehS
