🌞 Today is World Kindness Day 🌞 Volunteering is the most humbling, heroic, selfless act of kindness. “Volunteering is an act of heroism on a grand scale. And it matters profoundly. It does more than help people beat the odds; it changes the odds.” – William J. Clinton “Every person can make a difference, and every person should try.” – John F. Kennedy Our dedicated volunteers know that kindness can make the world of difference for the children in need who have experienced abuse and neglect. Whether being there to listen, sharing a smile or being a friend, make these moments matter. This World Kindness Day, if you can pay it forward at lunch or dinner. Make that call to a friend that has been on your mind. Give someone a compliment. You never know what someone is going through just a simple smile and hello could make someone's day. 💙💙 Join us in spreading KINDNESS today and every day! When justice is paired with mercy, it helps build stronger communities. This approach ensures people are held accountable while also given a chance to change and improve. It reduces repeat offenses and promotes peace, understanding, and unity among community members. #JusticeInitiatives #NonProfitLeadership #HumanRightsAdvocate #CommunityEngagement #ImpactfulWork #capionigeria #LegalServices

I joined an amazing organization - Families Forward Charlotte and they need YOU. 1️⃣ Help recruit Family Liaison mentors. Keys to being a great Family Liaison - having the time, being open to forming a new relationship with a family in our program, and approaching their situation with grace and understanding. No specific skills needed! I have attached a flyer that you can pass on to anyone interested. More information and links to sign up can also be found on our website: https://lnkd.in/eNdMjiVf A great way to share the information is from our social media pages. We don't have recent posts about being a Family Liaison but look for them over the coming months. 2️⃣ Share our need for child watch volunteers Volunteers will need to be background checked if 18 or older. Needs are primarily 5:30-8:30pm on Tuesdays and 10:30-1:30pm on Saturdays. A recent social media post about it can be found here. https://lnkd.in/eVH_RYiX 3️⃣ Share our need for meals Meals can be provided in multiple ways: -homemade or store bought frozen meals -prepared or purchased meals to be served at workshops (to children and/or adults). Link to a great example. https://lnkd.in/eVH_RYiX 4️⃣ Connect us with organizations or groups we can speak to community groups or clubs, churches, professional organizations, rotary clubs, etc. Connect us via email or schedule a meeting with the agency and one of our staff. Reach out to Carrie Christian to coordinate. 5️⃣ Help us thank our #volunteers! Write thank you notes or make phone calls to thank Family Liaison mentors or other volunteers. 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐲’𝐬 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞 With only four apartments available, our selection process is rigorous. Our selection criteria prioritizes families committed to change, ensuring that our limited resources make a lasting impact: ✅ Self-Elimination: Some families intentionally seek alternative housing, removing themselves from consideration. ✅ Criminal Offense Nature: Violent offenses against children or the elderly disqualify individuals. However, most other offenses can be considered with the right context. ✅ Willingness for Change: A critical requirement is the mother's genuine desire to change. Without this commitment, we run the risk of being just another housing program, which we strive not to be. Our process is inclusive and does not discriminate based on race, color, creed, national origin, or religious preference. We seek families ready to embrace change, allowing for meaningful support and lasting transformation. If you know families that could benefit from our program or want to get involved, please reach out to Mercy’s Shore. Together, we can create a brighter future for those in need! #NonProfitOrganization #CommunitySupport #TransformingLives #Philanthropy

Real change starts at the local level. Hyperlocal giving allows us to invest directly in community-led initiatives that address racial equity and the systemic challenges many neighborhoods face. By supporting organizations rooted in the communities they serve, we empower those who are closest to the issues and equipped with the knowledge to drive sustainable solutions. These hyperlocal efforts are essential to addressing disparities in economic opportunities and justice—particularly in areas heavily impacted by mass incarceration. By focusing on specific community needs, we can create pathways to equity and long-term change. Visit the PWF Grants page to learn more about our nonprofit partners. Explore their work, visit their websites, and consider giving directly to support their efforts in building stronger, more equitable communities. https://lnkd.in/g5eZnehv #HyperlocalGiving
