One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned while building a company in the luxury space is that true luxury isn’t about branding and logos—that’s consumerism, driven by the need for societal acceptance, to show that you can afford a specific product. Real luxury, to me, lies in the quality of materials, the stories woven into the brand, and the tradition and heritage passed down through generations of artisans and craftsmanship. Luxury isn’t about feeding egos; it’s about nurturing creativity, expertise, and unparalleled quality. Luxury is like a romantic relationship: some may pursue it for status or to avoid loneliness, but genuine luxury, like true love, should always be driven by passion and authenticity. Visible Mending is redefining Luxury. When the quality of what we can buy keeps going down and we also have less and less time... mending becomes a luxury. If we want a better world we have to envision it, and that means redefining what we value and prioritise and envy. We know hierearches don't bring love and joy. Luxury has been about stepping on others or separating ourselves from others. When connection is rare, when care is rare, mending is a luxury, community is a luxury.
