💡 This Giving Tuesday, let’s close the achievement gap in education! 💡 As a parent of twins in the NYC public school system, I’ve experienced how challenging it can be to navigate the system and ensure every child has access to the resources they need. I’ve also seen how inequities in education can hold kids back simply because of where they live or the resources available to their teachers. That’s why I’m proud to serve as a facilitator with Inspiring Educators, where we work to empower school teachers and administrators with tools, training, and strategies to transform their classrooms and communities. This work helps bridge the achievement gap and gives every child a chance to thrive. This Giving Tuesday, I invite you to support this mission. Your donation can help expand programs that uplift educators and create lasting change for students everywhere. Every dollar we raise goes directly to the IE Equity Fund, providing grants and scholarships to make our training accessible to high-need, underfunded schools, districts, and organizations. Three ways you can support IE during this season of giving: 1️⃣ Donate if you are able. We have secured a match on all donations so every dollar will be DOUBLED! https://lnkd.in/eUXbdGE9 2️⃣ Spread the word. Share our posts on here to remind your network of the essential work that educators do every day and the urgent need to support them. 3️⃣ Connect us to new friends and supporters. Do you know someone who would be excited about our mission and interested in supporting it? Put us in touch or send them this link: https://lnkd.in/ejbfgQ3K Oh... wait, there's a 4th thing. 4️⃣ Thank an educator. Always, always, thank an educator 👏 💛 #GivingTuesday #EducationForAll #CloseTheGap #InspiringChange

Questions for you: Should humanity's first permanent steps into space look just like those on Earth today, or should we take the opportunity to consider how they could be better and strive towards that instead? Is space for an elite few, or is it for all of us? Who will ask the right questions and lead the way to an interplanetary future that's for all of humanity? The answer to at least the last question is the students who will be the recipients of this fund. There is real magic in giving students who never believed that space was something for *them* the opportunity to realize that space is *ours*, and they can be a part of it - a big part. One of the things I'm absolutely passionate about is helping people make this transformative leap in understanding, and when it's also helping students realize that they're the ones that will shape the future of space, I'm all in. Please consider making a donation - of any size - and know that you'll not only be giving students opportunities they never dreamed were possible, but also helping make sure that the future of space is inclusive for *all of us*.
We're thrilled to announce that our generous donor, John Thurmond, has pledged to MATCH all donations up to $1,000 for our Space for Students campaign! This incredible opportunity means your gift can have DOUBLE the impact on deserving students pursuing their dreams of working in the space sector! Here's how you can make a difference: Donate through our campaign website: https://bitly.ws/3gwkH Share this post to spread the word! Every contribution, big or small, gets us closer to our goal. Let's unlock the full potential of this matching gift and invest in the future of education! #ASUSpace #scholarship #education #donate #matchinggift #impact

Working for an education-based non-profit is interesting. People ask what it is we do. Our mission statement says we empower students to discover their voice, improve academic outcomes, and engage in self-directed learning through project-based storytelling. But how do we do that? Developed by researchers at the University of Oregon, JLI's Journalistic Learning approach centers student interests, connects classrooms with communities, and equips young people with crucial skills. Our programs prepare educators to lead Journalistic Learning units in their classrooms. At every step of the journalistic journey, students connect with their communities in meaningful ways, whether it's interviewing a local expert on an issue or publishing their findings for community members to read. This is why the simplest way to explain what JLI does is this: We help teachers help their students, who help their communities, and your donations make that happen. Please consider supporting our work: https://lnkd.in/g9HQibzC
We can’t do it without YOU! Research shows that Journalistic Learning helps students identify, address, document and communicate about complex problems that can make a difference in their communities and in their own and others’ lives (Beghetto & Madison 2022). Help us continue to empower students of all backgrounds by donating today. https://lnkd.in/gw5NZwrP

What do you do when your mission suddenly doesn’t feel enough? Double it? Defy mathematics? Well that’s what we are going to do with our Spark Curiosity programme where 1 = 2. For every box funded through our partnerships we’ll donate one in our Spark Curiosity regions. We’ve always been focused on finding ways to remove barriers to accessing fun, practical science and engineering. This just enables us to do it more strategically by leveraging the many partnerships we’ve developed with social mobility charities, community orgs and education institutions since 2020. https://lnkd.in/e_RbihEQ #socialmobility #purposefulbusiness #smallbusiness #womeninbusiness #scienceforall #engineeringforall

For the month of July, our Who I Am Foundation volunteers in #Albuquerque are hosting our 11th Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive to help children in need begin the school year with all of the tools they need for academic success. With so many uncertainties about how children will return to school and what the classroom will look like, they need your help more than ever. Families with children in K-12 spent a projected $519 per child on back-to-school needs last year. For families in low-income neighborhoods, the costs are simply not realistic. Donating new school supplies to children in disadvantaged communities will make an impact on their ability to begin the school year school-ready. Items we are collecting: -Pencils -Pens -Composition Books -Combination Locks -Scientific Calculators -5-Subject Notebooks -Tissues -Hand Sanitizer -Wet Wipes -Trapper Keepers -Colored Pencils -Markers -Protractors -Paint Sets -Glue Bottles -Notebook Paper -Highlighters -Scissors -Sharpeners -Pocket Folders To donate, simply comment below and we'll have a volunteer coordinate a donation pick up!! #TeamWhoIAm_Albuquerque
