October is National Principals Month, a time to recognize the incredible work of school leaders. Principals face constant challenges—balancing budgets, managing student behavior, handling crises, and supporting teachers—all while keeping their school’s mission at the forefront. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and question if your efforts are making an impact. But here’s the truth: principals are pivotal. Your leadership sets the tone for the entire school. Research shows that effective school leadership is one of the most significant factors in student achievement. Your work matters, even on the hardest days. To stay grounded, remember to focus on the core of your role: instructional leadership. By prioritizing classroom walkthroughs, supporting teacher growth, and staying connected to the learning happening in your school, you create a thriving learning environment. As you reflect on your role this month, know that the difference you make is profound. Keep going, stay focused on what matters, and lead with intention. When considering a private school education, many people automatically think of academic excellence. However, the true measure of a quality experience at these schools goes beyond academics; it lies in cultivating tomorrow's leaders, innovators, and empathetic individuals. This is a key aspect of our discussions when I work with families who want to move their child to a different school or who are relocating. Navigating the complex landscape of educational choices involves more than simply selecting a prestigious institution where a child can accumulate knowledge. It's about identifying environments that foster growth in every sense—intellectually, morally, and socially. This guiding principle shapes our search for private schools that do more than teach; they inspire understanding, encourage responsibility, and nurture the seeds of leadership. It's a holistic approach that aims to prepare our children not only for future challenges but also for the responsibilities of shaping them. As we consider these choices, it's essential to remember that the true value of education lies not just in the knowledge gained but also in the character developed along the way. The journey is about much more than where your child will end up; it's fundamentally about who they will become in the process. By focusing on these crucial aspects of personal growth and character development, we can ensure that your child receives an education that prepares them to become well-rounded, compassionate, and capable individuals ready to impact the world positively. To learn more about how I can help you or someone you know find the perfect private school experience for a child from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12, please visit https://lnkd.in/geCUDGkV #EducationalConsulting #LeadershipDevelopment #CharacterBuilding

While the world rapidly evolves around us, what about our educational systems and their curricula? I firmly believe that the gap between what is taught in classrooms and the skills needed in the modern workforce is widening. Those same skills can also be applied in the more challenging day-to-day circumstances of life. Now, more than ever, we must urgently rethink and reform how we educate our future generations. Considering the big picture and the macro, there is so much more that we can teach, and that's more practical, leading to longer-term benefits for the growth and development of our next generation. #educationreform #skillsfortommorrow #neweraeducation #leadership

Instructional leadership in early education programs can influence program climate, staff motivation, and children’s development. However, most interventions focus entirely on educators. Abt’s Kerry Hofer joins the conversation at Administration for Children and Families (ACF)’s #NRCEC2024 to discuss interim findings from the Early Childhood Support Organization (ECSO) Initiative seeking to improve the quality of early education providers by supporting leaders to: ➡️ Strengthen organizational climates ➡️ Provide professional learning opportunities for staff ➡️ Support the use of curriculum and child assessments ➡️ Engage in continuous quality improvement

Let's face it. #SchoolLeaders often do not get the support they need. The Wallace Foundation report cited below states, "High-quality principal preparation and professional development programs are associated with positive outcomes for principals, teachers, and students. These outcomes include principals’ reports of their effectiveness, staff perception of school climate, teacher retention, and student achievement." (https://bit.ly/3SGc6zx) Yet, many #principals continue to find it difficult to access needed resources. If you're looking for reasonably priced, time-efficient, targeted professional development, for #SchoolLeaders, we encourage you to investigate the thirteen self-paced courses that John Hinds has already made available in his partnership with Responsive Learning: https://lnkd.in/gRTWXaES From "Designing a Powerful School Year" to "Emotional Intelligence 101 for Leaders," this range of courses is certain to offer the help you need. What I think about when I think about school leadership. I don’t always get it right, but these are the three questions I ask myself to stay on track. 1️⃣ Is what we are doing helping the community get better now? Grades, teaching, health and wellbeing….etc 2️⃣ Is what we’re doing helping the community reach their goals? University, training, promotion…etc 3️⃣ Is what we are doing helping the community become better? Knowledge, skills, understanding, relationships, self awareness…..this list could go on indefinitely. #educationalleadership #schoolleadership #internationalschool

The Role of Higher Education in Student Success As educators, we lay the foundation for students to pursue their dreams and career desires. As a school leader, I focused on preparing students for college, career, and life. Therefore, we would discuss life after graduation with students. Reflecting on multiple conversations with students concerning life after high school, many students expressed a desire to go to college. In today's video, we'll examine how higher education institutions recognize the significance of this phase and actively engage with public school districts to smooth the pathway for students. #EducationalLeader, Kim “When students are led well, they learn well.” #Education #Leadership
