Seattle Children's is giving new hope to epilepsy patients with a cutting-edge procedure called responsive neurostimulation (RNS). This innovative treatment involves placing a battery-powered device in a patient’s skull to detect and stop seizures. Dr. Stephanie Randle and Dr. Jason Hauptman highlight that RNS is a game-changer for children who haven't found relief with other treatments. Seattle Children’s is the only center in the Northwest offering this advanced option, showing promising results with significant seizure reductions for many patients. Returning from the American Epilepsy Society annual meeting, I am energized by my discussions with various customers, partners, and other companies with who we at #NatusNeuro share the aim to improve epilepsy care and alleviate the burden of seizures more generally. Across the past days I saw progress in at least the following areas: 🚀 enabling more efficient and new workflows with AI and cloud backed applications 🚀 improving the ease-of-use of EEG to increase access to care across more care settings (e.g. rapid EEG, clinical decision support applications) 🚀 getting to better solutions and pathways for the patient populations that need it the most (e.g. neonates / pediatric, drug refractory epilepsy patients) To see how we at #NatusNeuro aim to contribute to improved neuro care through innovation, see our recap video below.
That’s a wrap on #AES2024! ⭐Thank you to everyone who joined us at the American Epilepsy Society Annual Meeting this year. It was an honor to connect with so many healthcare professionals dedicated to bettering outcomes for people with epilepsy. At Natus, we are guided by legacy and led by innovation, partnering with clinicians to advance epilepsy care and expand solutions beyond the epilepsy monitoring unit to make an even greater impact for patients. Together, we’re shaping the future of neuro care, one innovation at a time. Catch a glimpse of the highlights in our recap video below and follow us to stay informed on what’s next in neuro! https://hubs.li/Q02_gLkV0 #epilepsy #epilepsycare #EEG #AES #healthcareinnovation
