Innovation is a team sport. With the inclusive and collaborative conversations, I'm optimistic our collective action will transform our society for a better tomorrow. A Big THANK YOU to the 200+ global allocators, family offices, crypto traders, venture investors and outlier innovators who joined our 3nd Annual Web3 Investor Day in #Chicago last week. This community is our strength. I'm privileged to be a small part of this powerful ecosystem. Our goal with the conference was to convene meaningful conversations, valuable connections and deep relationships. Quite different from other conferences, we were intentional about bringing the leaders with different perspectives on the Web3 use cases. These perspectives are non-consensus, early and uniquely mainstream. The mainstream is uniquely Chicago and the Midwest. Our conference theme, "Transformation to a Fresh Tomorrow," points to the substance in conversation and action that drive Web3 innovations forward. Not every Web3 project needs a token. Too often, promising projects add tokenomics to secure funding or fit into the standard crypto blueprint. But with every token we add,  the ecosystem becomes a bit more diluted. But maybe it’s time to rethink how we support the best ideas in Web3. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been speaking with launchpads, KOLs, community leaders, and advisors, and one thing is clear: token fatigue is real. The investor community wants to back projects that bring tangible value but is tired of the same old narrative. That’s why my team is focused on building a utility layer that enables trusted projects to unlock value, promote cross-platform collaborations, and deliver real benefits to users and investors alike. 🥁 'Tis a season for announcements! 🥁 🤩 Say hello to Round 2 of our Octant Community Fund with nearly double the funding! 🤩 A few months ago, we kicked off our first grants round with a 48 ETH pot for Octant growth. We funded community rounds and grantees such as: Nacion Bankless, LottoPGF, Olayinka Oshidipe, Crypto Altruism, kateg.eth & lanadingwall.eth, Gitcoin Climate Coordination Network, Hats Protocol and growthepie. 📆 Applications open: 4 Nov - 22 Nov Reviews + decisions: 23 Nov - 9 Dec 🤔 So what’s changing? Well we had a lot of learnings and we’ve refined the process and the program. ✨ Opening up nominations. We opened the grants council process up so anyone could nominate themselves to be considered for the council. ✨ Clearer instructions ++ improved organization for anyone applying. ✨ A refined rubric. We want projects who can strengthen ++ grow our Octant ecosystem. We’ve got 3 funding categories this time: 💚 GLM Locking Initiatives – if you can help grow GLM locking in Octant ++ epoch participation and governance engagement, this one’s for you. 💚 Marketing — great at content and cutting through the noise? Chronically online and have an audience you really connect with? We want to grow visibility and awareness for Octant, so if you’re good with content, apply for this one. 💚 Public Goods Collaboration — last time we had 3 community rounds, this time we’re looking for 1 bigger partnership community partner for a round. A New Chapter Begins. After 4 years and 8 months of pouring my thoughts, heart, and energy into building CosmWasm and Confio, it’s time for me to move on. Someone once called me the "mother of CosmWasm"—a title I wear with pride! This incredible journey has been filled with challenges and triumphs, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together. When I joined in January 2020, there were only 3 of us: Ethan, Simon, and me. Even before the company was formally established, I was contributing to the growth and success of CosmWasm, helping to transform it from its earliest days into a key player in the ecosystem. I spearheaded the branding, established our websites and social media platforms, and organized the first community calls and developer workshops in 2020. These efforts laid the foundation for expanding the CosmWasm developer community and set the stage for future growth. From securing our first major deals with Terra and Osmosis to recruiting Tgrade validators in 2021 and 2022, I’ve been deeply involved in every aspect of Confio's growth. I also led the successful CosmWasm Academy project and organized the first-ever CosmWasm events in Seoul. Interacting with developers throughout this journey has been one of my greatest joys, constantly learning new things and gaining insights from the talented people in our community. This experience enriched my role and fueled my passion for the ecosystem. One of my proudest achievements was growing the CosmWasm Twitter following from 0 to over 20k. Building this community was crucial in spreading the word and gaining traction within the Cosmos ecosystem. In 2023, I played a key role in navigating Confio through a challenging financial crisis, raising over $2M and proving our tech stack as one of the four pillars recognized by the Interchain Foundation. I’m proud to have helped secure community support from Hub, Osmosis, and Terra. In 2023 and 2024, I organized 1 conference and 2 hackathons, raising over $300k by contacting more than 100 entities. Securing sponsorships was especially tough during the financial crisis and after the FTX incident, but everything went smoothly and was praised by sponsors and participants alike. I was also the key contributor in closing CosmWasm Subscription deals. As I look to the future, I’m excited about the possibilities ahead. With a strong network and proven track record in business and marketing within the Cosmos ecosystem, I’m eager to bring my expertise to new challenges and opportunities. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. Let’s stay connected—I’m always open to collaborations and new ventures.
