One thing we’ve learned is that if you spend time focusing on the process of segmenting the market on benefits and are willing to do the work necessary to determine the benefits that customers want, you will be rewarded with an excellent view of your market. But how do you segment your markets by benefits? First, identify the benefits of your market, using techniques like laddering, explained in our book The Brand Benefits Playbook. To make sure the benefits are clearly identified, define each benefit so that the people in your organization who work with customers and segmenting the market are on the same page about what the benefit means. In our experience, not clearly defining benefits leads to disagreements among the people responsible for the brand. Defining benefits clearly helps not only when you are segmenting the market but also later, when you are thinking of ways to increase customers’ perceptions of those benefits. This process will provide you with a better view of your market. We’re here to help: https://lnkd.in/dsGx_TyD

This week in my business marketing class, I learned about consumer markets and buyer behavior. Consumer markets include everyone who buys goods or services for personal consumption. Understanding consumer behavior is essential for businesses to effectively focus their marketing strategies. Buyer behavior refers to the decisions and actions people take when purchasing products or services. These decisions are usually influenced by cultural factors, personal factors, social factors, and psychological factors. By understanding these influences, businesses can better understand consumer preferences, target their marketing campaigns to their desired audience, and ultimately improve sales. This is why businesses go above and beyond to conduct research on consumer behavior in order to tailor their marketing strategies, create products that meet market demands, set optimal prices, and enhance customer satisfaction. By employing various methods such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, and market research, companies can gain valuable insights into consumer preferences, decision-making processes, and attitudes. This knowledge enables businesses to make informed decisions, build stronger relationships with their customers, and ultimately achieve greater success. #byuh #businessmarketing #consumerbehavior #marketing #business Noah Jacobs Bret Grow
