In this dark moment for the United States, with consequences that reach far beyond our borders, my only focus is on standing firm in our principles, even when the stakes are high.
As we process this devastating outcome, I hope those of us who are reeling will find strength through mass mobilization and action. I’m hoping that we’ll find leaders unafraid to fight for our values without hesitation and calculation. Our only power lies in organizing and resisting.
With Trump intensifying efforts toward mass deportations and targeting marginalized communities, we are the only line of defense against this authoritarian agenda. Now more than ever, all of us—civil society, businesses, public servants, academia—must act without reservation.
Today and every day: we choose to welcome refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants
The IRC has been supporting and advocating for the rights of vulnerable and forcibly displaced people for over 90 years. No matter who occupies the executive office, we’ll always continue to stand with refugees and asylum seekers.
