Where the new English textbooks and curriculum brought the teachers to sweating bullets at the start of the session in my school, it sure should be said that now, when the beast has been finally tamed, I am left with a few skills and strategies which I didn't have the ability to hone at the start. The challenges of the new curriculum molded us all in a way that we had to leave behind the dead weight of outdated practices and get equipped with the new advancements in our pedagogical skills. I myself have found solace in the internet, searching the teaching resources, analyzing and evaluate their worth, and then creating my own upto the needs of my students. The novel Treasure Island have been a good read back when we have been a reader but not so much when we actually have to teach it. Must have taken some time but now I am sure the readers in us all must have managed to spark creative ideas to teach this novel and come up with engaging classroom activities. Here I am sharing mine: hope you all get more ideas. I love word games, word search, crossword puzzles etc. so I naturally tapped into my especiality, created activities using teacher resources websites and the results have been amazing. I used the website wordwall.net to create these hands on exercises, we can easily create the activity and share link with the students or even convert the activity into pdf and take the print out. Please share your favourite online resource, may as well help others in this regard.https://youtu.be/_mSo_KCOeCA

Referring to the CEFR word list when planning niche courses? BIG MISTAKE! ⚠️⚠️⚠️ The CEFR word list is AWESOME for building a general English curriculum, but niche students don't need that. They need things TAILORED RIGHT TO THEM. Just because I like helping teachers like me (IOW, no sly intentions), I'm sharing my custom GPT for generating need-to-know word lists on ANY topic... ...NO MATTER HOW NICHE IT MIGHT BE!!! (seriously, try "Pokémon gym battle prep strategy" 🦖or "pencil sketch artist verbs" ✏️ and your jaw will drop to the desk) Seriously, I love it so much I use it all the time (every new unit I plan for more than one curriculum). It's a great brainstormer tool. 🧠 It's free (no pay tiers, no ads, no upsells, no email sub), so check it out! CLICK HERE --> https://lnkd.in/dwa_Tj46 <--
