Two ‘random’ headlines in Dutch newspapers last few weeks, both are very relevant under our Farm of the Future vision. With dairy demand increasing for the foreseeable future, we see it as our duty to make the sector even more sustainable, more circulair and more future proof whilst at the same time protecting farmer income. In the first 4 year pilot Lely partner with the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Wageningen University, Hanskamp and others to explore the replacement of artificial manure with cow urine to promote circulair farming. In the second 7 year pilot Lely partner with ZLTO and others to explore the potential of CO2 capturing by farmers in the Netherlands. Both are very promising concepts and will give us lots of learnings for a bright future in dairy farming! #FD #Lely #Farminginnovators

🌱 Innovating Sustainable Agriculture with Black Soldier Fly Larvae 🐛 At Big Dutchman AG, we are proud to showcase our ongoing collaboration with the DIL Deutsches Institut für Lebensmitteltechnik e. V. Technology and other partners in developing sustainable solutions for the agricultural industry. Our latest video highlights a seven-year partnership dedicated to enhancing the sustainability of farming practices through the innovative use of black soldier fly larvae. In the EU-funded Evelin project, we demonstrate the incredible benefits of using insect larvae for protein supply in laying hens. Not only does this practice lead to increased egg production, but it also significantly reduces cannibalism among the hens. Our partnership with FarmInsect and other key stakeholders underscores our commitment to driving positive change in agriculture. Join us in leading the way toward a more sustainable future in agriculture.
