I only have one thing to say about yesterday’s mass shooting in Georgia (USA) and the virtue-signalers crawling out of their “safe spaces” to perform outrage online for clout. If you like me are noticing the trend that an alarming percentage of people only seem to care about gun (or any) violence when they realize it could maybe possibly probably happen to them, know this: It is okay for you to be unable to comprehend how many of the same people calling for immediate gun reform have no issue with their tax dollars funding weapons of war that shred civilian bodies beyond recognition. Selective outrage is complacency. Cognitive dissonance is complicity. You’re not fooling anyone but the man in the mirror. This is not a subtweet to any one person. It is a call-to-action to EVERYONE claiming to be on a change work journey personal, professional, individual or collective. Allies talk. Accomplices ACT. And I need you to do better BEFORE—not only IF and WHEN—it hits close to home. That is all.

Gun-related violence remains a significant problem in the U.S., with one of the most recent instances resulting in the death of a 16-year-old high-school student in Nashville, TN. In 2022, we asked various religious groups, the non-affiliated and the general public about their views on gun laws, including how they feel about laws covering the sale of firearms. Here’s what we learned: 🔵 Muslims were the most likely religious group to favor more strict gun laws (65%), followed by Jewish Americans and Catholics, equally (64%). 🔵 White Evangelicals were the least likely to say gun laws should be more strict. It was in the words of Benjamin Franklin…. "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” The advocacy of Robert Reich to further limit, restrain our constitutional rights to freely protect ourselves is a pathway to give up our rights to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government. The moment you sacrifice that liberty for that safety, you surrender your freedoms, period. The issues of gun violence is alway attributed to the gun and not the force manipulating the guns action. There are numerous gun shops, gun owners, and gun shows that are held without an issue. How is that millions of guns never act of themselves? Because it’s the person that pulls the trigger that is to be blamed and not the tools used. If this is the case, then there should be restrictions on nearly everything as they could be used as a tool to inflict harm or death. This is nothing more than an attempt to erode your Constitutional rights in the name of control. It’s no secret that there are those in society that are trying to normalize various mental illnesses. From pedophilia to transgenderism and everything between. You were warned that they would come for your children. This is the problem, not the tools. Evil exists in all forms and will be perpetrated against the easiest of targets. Ask why schools are made “gun free zones”. No one can give an articulate answer that satisfies that question. The Democrats, like Robert, are Marxists and are now brazen enough to be blatant about their stance. They prefer to have you be governed and controlled by authoritarian regimes. They are what they blame/accuse others to be. Be smart. Don’t be like Robert.

This is wrong on so many levels including that the US: 1. Is only 4.23% of humanity - US gun owners don't do anything for the world except increasing the circulation of illegal US manufactured weapons. 2. Has the 28th-highest rate of deaths from gun violence in the world.

🔫 Gun debate rises Good morning! This week, we discuss how the gun debate is getting louder in Brazil’s Congress. A major power plant project scares environmentalists. And the 30 years of the Brazilian real. A study released today by the Fogo Cruzado Institute, a think tank that debates gun violence and policies, shows that congressional debates around gun regulations are becoming more and more frequent in Brazil. The institute analyzed the records from more than seven decades, including legislatures since 1951. State of play. The peak of gun discussions in Congress came between 2003 and 2006, when Brazil discussed and passed its Disarmament Statute. One of the act’s proposals, banning the sale of guns in all of Brazil, was rejected by 63 percent of Brazilians in a 2005 referendum. While some may see humor in its crude wordplay, others find the message needlessly antagonistic. Discussions around limiting access to semi-automatic weapons intended for military use remain controversial with reasonable people on both sides. Policy proposals in this arena often become entangled with partisan politics and cultural signifiers, impeding meaningful progress. Most agree that curtailing mass shootings and firearm deaths should unite rather than divide us. However, disagreements linger over how best to balance individuals' rights with public safety.
