NEO Observation Post: The media is really great at inventing bombs and weapon systems out of whole cloth. There is no such thing as an earthquake bomb, as many on this platform may be already aware. The Israelis likely used one of the 1,000 or 2,000 variant payload JDAM bombs on a warehouse which ignited and detonated munitions in secondary explosions. The media's hype on this and the distortion of what the weapons are are either a great help is misleading people or a serious problem in creating fantasies that are dangerous. We are also following headlines that have been speaking about Israel settling people in areas of the Golan Heights, due to the nature of the disputed ground and the lack of mutually observed designations, this could be the area that has been under the control of the Israelis for a long time and does not necessarily, nor clearly, mean the buffer zone areas recently entered into by the Israelis. While that may happen, our read of the situation is that those areas under long-term possession are where there is proposed increase in settlers to make entrance into the area much more difficult. However, that does not necessarily mean that Israel would not seek to annex and settle the newly obtained areas in the near future. aneop
