Building Trust is the Key to AI-at-Scale Scaling AI hinges on one crucial factor: TRUST. As Tim O'Reilly recently wrote, this requires that we take account of "AI's original sin": 🌐 Ethics & Copyright: Transparent handling of copyright and ethical issues. 🌐 Fair Value Distribution: Creating equitable models for all stakeholders. 🌐 Respect for Content Creators: Ensuring AI-generated outputs credit original sources. 🌐 Open Source AI: Building participatory AI systems that respect content ownership. What does that mean in practice? Leading with TRUST requires that digital leaders to: ✅ Advocate for transparency and accountability. ✅ Invest in explainable AI technologies. ✅ Build diverse teams for fairness. ✅ Foster a culture of ethical innovation. There’s something intriguing happening in the AI space, highlighted in an insightful article by Deanna Ballew, VP of AI at Acquia. It reveals how companies like Getty Images, Digimarc and Moovly are not just pushing AI technology forward, but also ensuring it’s safer and more adaptable. These companies are taking proactive steps to address the challenges in an evolving digital landscape where regulations are still catching up. For instance, Getty Images is streamlining risk-free image use in AI, Digimarc is innovating content tracking with its watermark system, and Moovly is redefining AI-generated video content. These developments are vital as they transform not just how we use AI, but also the way we manage and distribute content in platforms like Acquia DAM. What excites me most about this is the potential these partnerships hold for the future of our industry. They’re taking content management to new heights, moving beyond mere storage to dynamic transformation and distribution. This is more than technological advancement; it’s a leap towards making AI tools more practical and beneficial for businesses and users alike. https://lnkd.in/d6_jZExD #AIInnovation #Partnerships #DigitalAssetManagement #futuretechnology

AI is like the Wild West of technology right now — it seems like there’s a new platform or tool to use every day, and it’s difficult to keep up with the sudden innovation boom. Candidly, navigating the waters of AI and copyright law can feel like a wild ride — but there are still ways we can leverage it to get a leg up on our competition. Sharon Toerek joined me on Sell With Authority to share some of the nuances of AI-generated content and gave some examples of how agencies can use it without running into copyright or IP issues. She highlighted that your unique prompt strategies, tailored by your agency's skill, can be as valuable as the AI output itself. I’m telling you — your prompt strategies could be so valuable that they could be considered trade secrets — as long as they remain confidential. This episode is a must-listen for agencies that are trying to get ahead of the curve and find value in new strategies in a world full of AI. Now’s the time to double down on strategic AI usage. Check the first comment for a link to the full episode. Onward with gusto!

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸: 𝗔 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗪𝗲 𝗨𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗜 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 Mark Zuckerberg's recent The Verge interview raised eyebrows with his take on AI training and creator content: "𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵... Coming from the CEO of a platform built on user-generated content, this reveals a paradox: our digital contributions are simultaneously "overvalued" by us and invaluable for AI training. Without widespread AI literacy, we risk a future where our content is devalued and exploited. In this AI-driven era, understanding our true digital worth is critical. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬: 1. Meta's stance on creator content in AI training raises significant ethical questions about the value of individual contributions. 2. The complexities surrounding copyright in the AI era demand a robust legal and ethical framework that protects creators while fostering innovation. 3. Selective partnerships based on perceived content value may exacerbate power imbalances between tech giants and content creators. 4. This approach underscores the urgent need for comprehensive AI governance to ensure fair practices and protect individual rights. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐀𝐈-𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐯𝐲: • Empower individuals to make informed decisions about their data and content • Protect human agency in an increasingly AI-driven world • Foster meaningful public discourse on AI ethics that goes beyond "AI bad, humans good" The tech industry's AI practices are shaping our digital future at warp speed. It's time for all stakeholders to push for ethical, transparent, and equitable AI practices. Or we could let the Zuckerbergs decide our fate. (Spoiler: Terrible idea.) How do we balance AI innovation with creator rights and privacy? In the world of AI, knowledge is power 𝘢𝘯𝘥 protection.
