This is the take. Simon is right. Please do read it. And do consider its implications. In the #organisationdevelopment and #leadership community we of course abhor the injustices of racialisation and racism. We are, are we not, good people whose work is grounded in values and principle. This is not good enough. The dust will settle. For many, white folk, our urgency and realisation will fade. This week I have felt more keenly than ever the deep sorrow, rage and love that #antiracist work evokes in me. I must hang on to, feed, and act from and with those feelings. #OrganisationDevelopment and #Change practitioners and practice must remember and demonstrate our foundation is in social justice work. We must actively work to dismantle structural racism, show racialisation to be the heinous crime that it is, stand firm and ever strive in our commitment to equity and belonging for everyone. Not just because it is right and we are good. Because the inhumanity of this demeans and diminishes us all, including those of us who, like me, can leave the house never having to fear abuse and attack on us, or our families, because of the colour of our skin.

I think I just invented a safe for work spin-off of a NSFW game. The NSFW game is FMK. Among three people, who would you, "Fraternize" with, who would you Marry, and who would you Kill. The spinoff is WFN. In your job, if given a choice, which components would you do... Whenever, Forever, or Never? In more detail: Whenever - what would you drop everything else to do? Forever - which non-negotiable has to be a consistent component? Never - what would you fold up nicely, thank for its time, and throw in the bin? Disclaimer - not here to yuck someone else's yum; but if something doesn't give you energy, it just doesn't. There's no judgment for those who happen to get all tingly for things that give you hives. A credit union Super Bowl ad?? I had headed into the kitchen to replenish the chips and was on my way back to the game when I heard the words "...financial credit union." Too late! I'd missed it. Q. Who was the plucky credit union that had dared to venture onto advertising's biggest stage? A. Jovia Financial Credit Union, headquartered in Westbury NY (200K+ members and 22 branches across Long Island) aired a 30-second ad in the New York area during Super Bowl 2024 with the theme of catching "Jovia-itis" an "inflammation of money and happiness" caused by not-for-profit banking 👇 💡Bold move. At an average cost of $7 million for a Super Bowl ad, cynics might quip the not-for-profit line isn't a surprise but I say this is a bold move that will have caught the attention of millions of New Yorkers in the Jovia footprint and beyond as the credit union reportedly seeks to expand outside of its Long Island base (article in comments). It will be interesting to see whether Jovia can build on the campaign and how much it will move the needle in terms of growth in 2024. Over the weekend, while watching a football match of my favorite team (#ManU - Bring in the banter!), I couldn't ignore this random watermark (Mostly a bunch of digits and characters) popping on and off on the live stream. Don't get me wrong — it wasn't horrible. Still, it is equally unpleasant, especially when its on-screen location coincides with the on-field action. It made me think: Does this necessary watermark used to fight content piracy challenge the stream provider's goal of delivering a top-quality product? This brings me to a broader question —how do we balance creating customer-centric products and meeting those non-negotiable non-customer requirements? How do we ensure our products are secure, performing, and compliant while staying focused on the Customer Experience? So, what's your take on finding this delicate equilibrium?
