Update - Campaign for a Manufacturing Champion!
Two apologies from me this week.
Firstly, thank you everyone who commented, reacted, and shared the post last week about the request from Jonathan Reynolds MP for feedback so Labour can apply best business practice to their future policy decisions.
My first apology, I copied the e-mail address layout from the Department for Business and Trade post on the 9th of July and it seems that the capitalisation caused issues for some and the e-mails bounced.
It is critical we seize this opportunity as although The Labour Party's announcements for an Industrial Council, and Industrial Strategy, in the Kings speech, are exceedingly positive, we must ensure the SME voice is heard in both of these or we could end up with yet more policies which do not support the SME supply chain, and the critical businesses within it.
If you haven’t already, please check my post last week, or the DBT post on the 9th, for the questions they’re asking you to reply to, and please, please send your comments and replies to: -

Jonathan Reynolds MP says,
"Together, let’s transform our economy and our country. Let’s change Britain.”
We need to help him by ensuring our voices are heard!
𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 don’t miss this opportunity!
My second apology is my replies to your comments this week will be delayed as I’m taking some much-needed time away, so I’ve written this post on Tuesday and pre-scheduled it.
So, if everything has changed in the World in the next two days, and I look like I’ve ignored it, I have – I’m on holiday! 😋
But – hopefully, in the next week or two I can report some positive news in relation to my other goal for this year, the creation of the Central Resource / Hub / Website for all things #ukmanufacturing!
Start thinking about what you want to see there, what you are continuously searching for, the information you need access to quickly and easily, and what you could add from a content point of view.
I'll be asking for your help and feedback soon!
Halil Bedevi MSc, FMM, CEng, FIET spoke about a few fabulous resources Santander have released on our Cranfield University IAB meeting yesterday, and these are the types of resources we could incorporate.
To reiterate, this will NOT be a commercial offering.
It will be a FREE resource for the entire industry, and all those within and around it, including our fabulous educational bodies like EngineeringUK and The Design & Technology Association, and everyone else from the schools and colleges they work with!
Watch this space for more news soon!
𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 shout loud and proud by using the hashtags and spread the word that we deserve effective, strategic representation in Government.
#shoutaboutukmfg – positive news
#supportukmfg – promoting engineering & manufacturing
#ukmanufacturing – promoting our industry
