Key Highlights: 📅 Project Timeline: Start Date: September 10, 2023 Completion Date: March 31, 2024 🔧 Innovation & Features: Solar PV Generation: 9kW of PV generation installed on the trailer roof. Powerful Inverting Capability: The trailer is equipped with a 15kW inverter with an AC output of up to 50a continuously. Long Battery Life: 30kWh of battery storage contained in the trailer Automated Control Circuit: Automatically raises and lowers the solar array with safety features like locking mechanisms and automated stowing. Dual-Directional Array Placement: Allows flexibility in trailer orientation for site accessibility. Safety First: Auto-stow functionality and automated locking mechanisms ensure stability and security. Challenges We Overcame: Heavy Equipment Dependency: Developed a mobile solution without additional heavy equipment. Weather Resilience: Implemented wind sensors for safe stowing in high winds. Energy Storage: Addressed limitations in existing solar-powered trailers for prolonged off-grid use. The team contributed to the design build; their added experience helped to create a more practical design. The continued testing and adjustments were made to hone the final design.
