Next week the LaFutura special edition: "Healthcare 2040 - the power of foresight" is taking place in Basel at the Novartis pavillion. 🚀I will be moderating the foresight panel, with panel participants: Adi Yoffe, Guido Beier and Ywan K.. 💫So what is foresight? You ask. Foresight is the capability to think about the future, to imagine possible outcomes and to make plans about how to get to the point on the horizon. It actually is a natural human ability, which we unfortunately dis-learn because of our upbringing and current thinking models. 🎇In this panel discussion we will be discussing how we perform foresight, how we do it differently (probably), which sectors or parts of organizations are making use of it for which purposes, and last but not least, who is really good at it, or making use of it with success. 🤩I am very much looking forwards to meeting all of you, and in particularly to this panel discussion, as well as all the other presentations and panel discussion. 🙏Particularly thanks to the brilliant Antonis Sarlikiotis for making it all possible in the Novartis Pavilion.

Accelerating Australian - French exchanges on Health and Innovation - it's happening in Melbourne on 26 - 28 March! Thanks to the AFRAN Team, 49 speakers from all backgrounds - research, industry, government, institutions, universities NGOs from all countries will raise awareness and create pathways for collaborations on the Future of Health. The aim of innovations, whether technological, biotechnological or therapeutics, is to guarantee access to healthcare throughout the world and to improve prevention and treatment. 🤝 Where Health Meets Innovation Yesterday, I had the opportunity of attending the Italian Frontiers Health event at Assolombarda. Here are some impactful insights: 🔸 Marcello Cattani: Italy is a global leader in R&D but falls behind in capitalizing on its potential due to the lack of a long-term vision and stable strategic policies. While we excel in publishing, we lag in patenting, limiting innovation-driven growth. ➡️ Action Point: Establish policies fostering sustained investment, STEM education, and patenting to unlock Italy’s R&D leadership. 🔹Fabio Torriglia: The pillars of success—products, people, processes, partnerships, and performance—are crucial for advancing digital therapies. Partnerships between companies and institutions can normalize their adoption. ➡️ Action Point: Build alliances that demonstrate the tangible benefits of digital health for patients and stakeholders. 🔸FEDERICO CHINNI: Digital transformation requires clear communication and co-design to align stakeholders. Combining technology, organizational models, and public-private collaboration enhances care personalization and early diagnosis. ➡️ Action Point: Develop holistic strategies with aligned narratives to engage and mobilize stakeholders. 🔹Valentino Confalone: AI has immense potential to streamline research and optimize patient care, but regulations and privacy concerns remain challenges. Balancing ethics and innovation is key to progress. ➡️ Action Point: Drive cultural change to embrace ethical, data-driven healthcare transformation. A big thank you to all the speakers for their visionary insights and to Frontiers Health for organizing such inspiring event.

[#innaxe4eu] 🇩🇰 🔎 Zoom on co-creation in Denmark! 🛠️ From a roundtable organized in Copenhagen to individual meetings with Key Opinion Leaders, the Danish Life Science Cluster brought INNAXE’s major topics to the attention of key health and life science stakeholders. A couple of insights from those interviews and cocreation session: 📌Approval for an international cluster2cluster collaboration for joint actions in the 9 major topics like MedTech, digital health, public procurement but also and importantly for equity in health; 📌Cascade funding calls as a tool for investment in the field of public procurement with hospitals pitching their needs to ignite innovation power before the calls; 📌Equity in health: there is a huge geopolitical driver in Europe to lift the quality healthcare in all countries to the same level. Lack of equity can be used as a powerhouse to generate new generation technologies with more adequate pricing models. Inputs from the Danish ecosystem in feeding INNAXE’s topics were invaluable for our joint action plan. 🙏Many thanks to all of our Danish participants and to Danish Life Science Cluster. #innaxe4eu #Denmark #innovation #health #clusters #lifescience Karen Lindegaard

Keynote at Swiss Nordic Bio: Exploring the Future of Healthcare - can we square a circle? Last Thursday, I had the privilege to give a keynote speech at the Swiss Nordic Bio conference. Did you know that the Nordic countries and Switzerland rank among the world's happiest nations? The individual freedom we have and the ability to participate in the public debate and shape our societies are critical factors driving this happiness. As such the participants broadly agreed that we need to play an active role in ensuring innovation and high quality, accessible healthcare remains a top priority for our governments and societies, particularly in this pivotal year where EU Parliament but also many local governments are being elected. We discussed what would be needed to "square the circle" in healthcare, i.e. solve the seemingly unsolvable problem of providing broader access and better quality care to a growing and aging population in light of scarce resources. We explore the role that data and technologies can play in supporting a seamless and highly effective care journey, from prevention, to diagnosis and treatment. And we acknowledged that, while required technologies are at our fingertips, the reality in clinical practice still looks very different. To achieve the vision of data and technology enabled, more personalized care, we must cultivate the right people, forge meaningful partnerships, and enact progressive policies. The journey ahead may seem daunting, but with determination and collaboration, we could square the circle in healthcare. Thank you to the event main sponsors Nasdaq and Eversheds Sutherland and partners Innovation Norway, Vontobel, Embassy of Sweden, and Innosuisse Swiss Innovation Agency. #PersonalizedHealthcare #swissnordicbio #investors #lifescience #innovation #biotech #medtech #Nordics #Switzerland #conference #healthcare
