📣 Publication Alert!!! 📣 The Populist Radical-right Freedom Party in the Austrian 2024 EU elections Author: Eric Miklin In #Austria's 2024 EU elections, the Freedom Party of Austria (#FPÖ) emerged as the top performer by championing its established radical-right #platform. Known for its #populist stance over the last 30 years, the FPÖ pushed for a major reduction in the #EU's size, #powers, and #budget. It fiercely opposed EU policies on #migration, #Ukraine, #climate action, and COVID-19, using #alarmist #language to label #opponents as #corrupt or #extreme. Despite heavy #criticism from other Austrian parties and much of the media, the FPÖ framed itself as the only defender of Austrian interests against a supposedly unified #establishment.
