Case Study: Rapid Response to Hurricane Helene Aftermath When disaster strikes, connectivity becomes a lifeline. At Cumucore, we take pride in contributing to emergency response efforts where our technology can make a real difference. Here's how we stepped up during the aftermath of Hurricane Helene: The Challenge In the wake of the hurricane, communication infrastructure was severely impacted, leaving communities and responders without reliable connectivity. The mission was clear: provide a resilient, quickly deployable network to support recovery efforts. Our Approach Working closely with OperationConnectCarolina, we focused on delivering a mobile network solution that combined speed, flexibility, and reliability: 1️⃣ Phase 1: Mobile Core Integration We provided our advanced mobile core software with eSIM capabilities, ensuring seamless and secure user access. Partnering with Ripsim, we enabled quick provisioning of connectivity for those affected. 2️⃣ Phase 2: Local Network Deployment By integrating our core with Mosslab's base station, we established a localized private mobile network. This provided coverage for first responders and the public in critical areas. 3️⃣ Phase 3: Backhaul Connectivity To connect the local network to the wider internet, we integrated Starlink satellite communication, ensuring uninterrupted service even in remote locations. The Result In just days, we delivered a fully operational mobile network tailored for disaster recovery. The solution enabled first responders to coordinate their efforts effectively while providing connectivity to affected residents, demonstrating the power of private mobile networks in crisis situations. Why It Matters Disasters test the resilience of our communities and the technologies we rely on. At Cumucore, we believe in leveraging innovation to build networks that adapt to the most demanding scenarios. This case underscores our commitment to delivering connectivity when and where it matters most. Let’s continue to push the boundaries of what's possible with private mobile networks.
