Last week CEMA visited JCB, where we explored their innovative ideas and cutting-edge machinery. A highlight of the visit was seeing their hydrogen engine up close and learning about its development during a detailed and insightful presentation. It was a precious learning opportunity for our team, and it helped reaffirm the strong commitment of our industry for a stronger and more sustainable agriculture, through substantial research, development, and investments. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to CEMA Board member John Smith and CEMA Strategic Committee member Charles Stevenson for making it possible and for hosting us so graciously, as well as to the entire JCB team for the meaningful exchanges and productive discussions. Together, we remain dedicated to advancing innovation in the agricultural machinery industry for the benefit of farmers, businesses, and communities worldwide.

One of the ways we are supporting the introduction of technology for dasheen cultivation.
The dasheen auger is a game-changing tool that helps farmers efficiently dig planting holes. Through the USAID Caribbean Agricultural Productivity improvement Activity (CAPA), IESC introduced this innovation to smallholder farmers in Dominica at our demonstration farm. We recently visited some of these farmers, who found that their productivity increased since transitioning from manual hole digging to using the auger.

✍ "Europe's quality of life depends on having a secure and affordable supply of quality local food. Farming is a core part of our European way of life - and it must always stay that way." 📃 As outlined in the political guidelines for the next European Commission presented by Ursula Von Der Leyen, thanks to our agri-food sector Europe has one of the healthiest and highest-quality food in the world. 🌾 For this reason, the EU Commission is committed to develop a new Vision for Agriculture and Food - for ensuring long-term sustainability in our farming sector - together with a strong support to innovation on agri-food businesses. 🔍 As our main goal in agrifoodTEF is to foster sustainable and efficient food production through the implementation of robotics and AI solutions in the agrifood sector, we are thrilled to see these principles reflected in the new political guidelines. 👉 Find out more about the next European Commission political guidelines: https://lnkd.in/eZhTcXRr

Transforming Denmark’s agricultural and food sector together 👨🌾🌱 The recent green tripartite agreement sets the stage for just that – a transition and conversion of Denmark’s food and agricultural production including the world’s first livestock tax. Not an easy task, but an incredibly important one. And last week, I had the pleasure of meeting with the minister leading the implementation, Jeppe Bruus. We discussed how we at Danish Crown can help realise the potential of the agreement while strengthening our sector’s ability to deliver the foods of the future. At Danish Crown, we want to be a challenger, pushing towards new standards of agriculture and help shape the future. For example, by: - using cutting-edge data to implement efficient climate tech to help lower our emissions. - securing a good process for our farmer owners to convert 140,000 hectares of lowland soils. - showing that we can deliver a commercial food business within the framework of the new agreement that will put us on the forefront. - proving that the Danish agricultural and food sector is still important in the future. All this takes time, but we are heading in the right direction. And we are keen to deliver on our responsibility of contributing to society's green transition while aiming for a competitive edge in a global market with an increasing demand for low emission products within our categories. Thank you for taking the time, Jeppe Bruus. At Danish Crown, we’re eager to collaborate on shaping the food sector of the future here in Denmark! 🌍
