The USA are hosting the #CopaAmerica this summer, offering a unique opportunity for #soccer betting ⚽ Major international tournaments offer sportsbooks a huge opportunity to capture the imagination of fans, and operators require robust platforms to keep up with this demand Jonathon Hurst, Head of Soccer at Kambi spoke to Charlie Horner about their strategy and plans for CONMEBOL Copa America 2024 Some key quotes 🔑 🗣 "The Copa America tournament offers a unique opportunity for the Kambi network in the Americas, particularly in Latin America where our partner network continues to expand" 🗣 "Over the course of the last year, the popularity of soccer continues to grow strongly in the U.S. Much of that could be attributed to the arrival of Lionel Messi playing for MLS club Inter Miami. Since heading there last July, we have seen a 50% increase in the number of bets on the MLS." 🗣 "Kambi’s extensive experience with major sporting events, combined with our adept pre-match and live trading team, equips us to handle complex scenarios effectively. This adaptability was evident during the 2022 World Cup when the substantial increase in stoppage time prompted us to swiftly update our models, reflecting changes in markets such as over/under total goals and bookings." 🗣 "Kambi is enhancing its live betting experience by adding more player shots and shots on target lines than ever before, along with empowering partners to craft their own unique special bets through our backend tools"

I love women’s sports, but this post isn’t about that—it’s about business and shaping the world you want to live in with whatever level of influence you have. USA Rugby Sevens’ bronze win has been one of the most thrilling stories of the Olympics. Illona Maher, the breakout star, has seen her social media following soar by 300% (and that number will keep climbing). She’s become a TikTok star, and Michelle Kang's investment is paving the way in a sport many hadn’t even followed until last week. There’s a huge business opportunity here, with a professional league launching next year and a game with immense growth potential. I could wax lyrical about the exciting moves Kang and Kynisca are making, especially in the sport I love ⚽, but here’s the key lesson: Just because something hasn’t been done before or hasn’t yielded ROI in the past doesn’t mean it won't in the future. Believe it or not, I worked with folks in professional soccer who scoffed at the USWNT’s quest for equal pay. Fast forward to today, less than a decade later: Equal Pay ✔️ Stadiums built solely for women’s sports ✔️ Franchise evaluations at $250 million+ ✔️ Not so long ago, all of this was considered insane and impossible. Just because things have been a certain way doesn’t mean they always will be. Trusting your instincts and forging your own path can lead to incredible success, significant ROI, and a redefinition of what's possible for those who come after you. We may not all have the means for multimillion-dollar investments, but we can still wield influence in our own ways. How are you using your influence to support innovative ideas and build the world you want to see? Let me know in the comments 👇 #BusinessInnovation #ROI #Leadership #WomenInSports #Influence #Entrepreneurship #SportsBusiness #FutureOfWork #CareerGrowth #RedefineSuccess #Olympics #RugbySevens #USArugby #USWNT https://lnkd.in/gnbdXVDV

The genesis of the National Soccer League™ stems from a profound passion for the game. Observing the successful blueprint set by Wrexham, it became clear that there is a significant opportunity to foster inclusive soccer in America. This realization wasn't just about emulating success but addressing a glaring gap in the market that yearns for a league that welcomes all players, regardless of background. This great nation already possesses the essential infrastructure—stadiums that echo with history and the promise of thrilling future matches. Furthermore, there is a wealth of untapped talent waiting for an opportunity to shine. This dormant potential is a treasure trove that, once harnessed, can elevate the game to unprecedented heights in the United States. The formation of the original teams is the icing on the cake, symbolizing the beginning of a new era. These teams are not just participants but pioneers who will set the standard for what our league aspires to be. Their involvement lays the foundation for a vibrant, competitive, and inclusive environment that will attract fans and players alike. Now, the focus shifts to assembling the right team of individuals who share this vision. My strength lies in identifying and bringing together the best talent—people who are not only skilled but also passionate about growing the sport. By pooling our resources and expertise, we can build something extraordinary. This venture is more than just a league; it's a movement. It’s about pulling together a diverse group of people to create a platform where soccer thrives, inclusivity is celebrated, and dreams are realized. The journey has just begun, and with the right people on board, the national soccer league is poised to make a lasting impact on the American sports landscape. https://lnkd.in/eWFRxwmY

Great excerpt carved out from the recent The Athletic article expanding on the new Division I status of the United Soccer League (USL) Super League and how it will compete vs the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). To put the current professional women's soccer landscape into perspective, there are a little over 300 total NWSL players compared to the 347 NCAA Divsion 1 women's soccer programs in the U.S. (avg less than one player per program). Add international talent to this mix and the Super League has plenty of options when looking to build their inaugural rosters. Increased opportunities for female athletes has been a longstanding issue and we are now going to see a potential solution on the women's soccer front. The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) once again proved why it’s the premier league for women’s soccer, with 57 players representing their countries at the Paris 2024 Olympics—more than any other league in the world. Of those, 16 out of the 18 players on the USWNT roster who clinched the gold medal are from the NWSL. This tournament wasn’t just a competition but an introduction to the new superstars redefining the sport. The Paris 2024 Olympics saw a significant investment from fans and corporations, underscoring the growing interest and support for women's soccer. Fans, on average, spent over $10,000 to travel to Paris and witness these incredible athletes battle it out for gold. Meanwhile, corporations invested six figures in hospitality packages to be part of the action. But here’s the reality: Soccer fans don’t need to spend tens of thousands of dollars to see the world's best women’s soccer players. Corporations don’t need to shell out six figures for hospitality packages; sponsors don’t have to wait every 2-4 years to support the sport. These SAME players are right here, in the U.S., competing every weekend in the NWSL. Fans can watch these world-class athletes play up close and personal, at the highest level, week in and week out, for a fraction of the cost. The NWSL and its Clubs offer an affordable way to support and enjoy women's soccer. And let's not forget—our very own North Carolina Courage made history as the first professional women's soccer team to bring home all three Olympic medals: gold, silver, and bronze! 🥇🥈🥉 The players the world lined up to see are right in our backyards, playing in the most competitive league in the history of women’s soccer. We have the incredible privilege of watching them live, whenever we want, at an affordable price. So, all in honesty, what are you waiting for? What am I missing here? Let’s fill those stands across the League and show our support for the best in the world! #NWSL #WePlayHere #WomensSoccer #Paris2024 #Olympics #NorthCarolinaCourage #SupportLocal #HistoryMakers

EXEC: Ten Takeaways from SFIA’s 2024 Team Sports Report... https://lnkd.in/gQrXw5CV In terms of income disparity in team sports for 6- to 12-year-olds, it is greatest in Swimming on a Team, Roller Hockey, and Ice Hockey, and least so for Tackle Football, Rugby, and Wrestling. Among 13- to 17-year-olds, income disparity in team sports was the largest in Ice Hockey, Swimming on a Team, and Lacrosse last year and least so in Paintball, Wrestling, and Grass Volleyball. Not surprised by this at all. There is a ton more to unfold, but lacrosse needs to find more ways to lower the costs and not be just a travel team sport. Here in Portland things are not looking any different, but we are doing what we can to develop the skills of players in the area and keep costs as low as possible.
