I love this company, the people and the product! G9 Defense EHPs have been in my everyday carry (pistol) mags for about 3 years now. Being a long time professional in the military, law-enforcement, and security contractor space, I was very skeptical of the terminal claims made about a round that, by design, does not depend on expansion for its lethality. So of course, I tested it. Old breed hogs are a notoriously thick skulled critter, and hard to kill quickly and cleanly. (Commentary from the peanut-gallery who know me are welcome.. I’ve developed a sense of humor and ability to laugh at myself over the years!) So of course, I had to test (what was imo) an insufficient one-shot killing round, the underweight and underpowered 9x19mm Parabellum… in G9 EHP. Against the skull of a living and over-sized hog, I was fully prepared to be underwhelmed and have to fire multiple follow up shots. I I positioned myself so that gases and unspent powder would not unduly affect the test… but less than 10ft from the feeding hog. I still shake my head at what happened next! The quickest cleanest kill I have ever ever seen to date, on ANY creature! (Which also resulted in the best ham and bacon I have ever tasted!) The hog farmer who sold her to me, was even more impressed than I was, and now carries G9 EHP in his sidearm (a 1911 in .45ACP naturally!) A couple years later, after a recent return from overseas, I went to a Bible study with members of the G9 staff. There, I heard they were producing some of the finest long range precision rounds available. Being a thick-skulled and hard to kill (apparently, as many have tried over the years) old-breed HOG myself, I called BS on some of the claims made on a specific caliber I am very well acquainted with. The proceeding hours not only proved me wrong, but blew my mind! G9 has truly shifted the paradigm, and is actively changing the parameters of what is possible in the long-range precision world, not only in external (down-range) ballistics, but terminal performance as well. If you or your agency depend on small arms, from .380 ACP up to .338 LM, .416 and .375 to save lives, or put meat on the table, you owe it to yourself and your troops/family to test these rounds for yourself! I am not a salesman, but the qualities of this ammunition sells itself. I do now have the honor of working for this company, not for the pay, but because I believe in what we do, how we do it, and WHY we do it. Our military troops, law-enforcement officers, and the public they protect and those who support them, are well worth it… May God bless you and our countrymen in the battles to come. Semper Fidelis.. Safety Thought of the Week Defenses can be dangerous A bloody episode in a long war introduces the idea that defenses designed to protect against one kind of hazard can render their users prey to other kinds of danger, usually not foreseen by those who created them or even appreciated by those who use them. In short, defenses can be dangerous. This is no less true now—in the age of high-technology systems—than in 1415. On a damp late October morning in 1415, a considerable force of heavily armored French cavalry advanced towards a small and sickly English army made up of 5,000 lightly clad archers and around 300 men-at-arms (the French army was at least five times this number). The mounted French knights rode across ground bounded on either side by thick woods. Although they had intended to attack the flanks of the English army to avoid the well understood threat of their longbows, the terrain caused the two wings of the attack to bunch together in the center of the field. When they came within range, the English archers loosed a storm of yard-long steel-tipped arrows. Some of the French were killed outright, but many were thrown from their disabled horses. By the early fifteenth century, the plate armor worn by knights had almost reached its zenith of weight and sophistication. It was proof against most penetrating and edged weapons but had a fatal flaw. The armor was so heavy that its unhorsed occupant found it difficult to get to his feet, particularly in the confined and muddy conditions that prevailed on the battlefield of Agincourt. Once on the ground, they lay helpless and were slaughtered by the unencumbered English foot soldiers armed with mallets, spikes, and daggers. (Some were taken prisoner and then killed.) While the English army lost around 100 men and boys in the battle, the French dead, mostly nobles, ran into many thousands. Source: MANAGING THE RISKS OF ORGANIZATIONAL ACCIDENTS, James Reason, 1997
