In the world of training development, there’s a phase that often goes uncelebrated yet is absolutely vital: quality assurance. When designing training materials, accuracy and relevance aren’t just goals; they’re non-negotiable standards. In our recent project, quality assurance became the cornerstone of our work, ensuring that every guide and video delivered was as impactful and precise as possible. Our QA journey began once the first draft of the training modules was ready, but we knew our work had only just started. We examined every step-by-step guide and video, collaborating closely with SMEs, project managers, and end-users to cross-check for the smallest details. But QA was more than simply looking for errors; it was about staying aligned with system updates, project evolutions, and user needs. Every change to the CRM system was carefully reviewed and incorporated so our training resources stayed relevant and up-to-date. It required rigorous attention to detail and adaptability. As updates came in, we’d circle back to the materials, implementing changes and verifying each one to ensure our resources accurately reflected the system. We viewed the QA process not as a single step but as a continuous journey - constantly refining to keep up with each adjustment in the project. Our commitment to the end users fueled this focus on accuracy. We knew they’d rely on these materials to navigate a new CRM system confidently, and we wanted them to feel equipped and empowered, not confused by outdated or unclear instructions. In training, QA isn’t just a safety net; it’s a promise to the learners. It ensures that what we deliver isn’t just informative but dependable and actionable. And when it comes to enabling users to succeed, nothing less will do.

Creating Effective Training for Certinia/Salesforce System Launch How do you ensure a system like Certinia/Salesforce empowers your team rather than frustrates them? The answer lies in well-designed, impactful training. At a recent Certinia/Salesforce launch, the team and I focused on relevance, clarity, and engagement. Salesforce's depth can be overwhelming, so our training aimed to show users how to use the system and why it's vital for their roles. We didn't stop there. We ensured the training also explained the "why" behind the changes, providing context for why the system was implemented and how it aligned with business goals. This made users feel more confident and invested in the system, moving beyond task execution. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, we tailored modules to specific teams within the organisation. We also created general materials anyone could access, ensuring role-relevant training and practical applications for every user. Our training blended demos with interactive elements, breaking complex features into digestible lessons. We also developed video guides, allowing users to choose their preferred learning method. This was only possible with solid collaboration with the Project Management team and SMEs. Excellent communication is critical to creating effective training.

Balancing Training Value and Technical Solutions In the pursuit of operational training excellence, the focus on training value must take precedence over the allure of advanced technical solutions. While emerging technologies can significantly enhance training environments, their true worth lies in their ability to meet defined objectives and improve readiness. Technology should be a tool to achieve training goals, not the goal itself. The challenges of modern training for operations—ranging from distributed audiences to rapidly changing environments—require training solutions that foster adaptability, decision-making, and collaboration. Advanced LVC systems can simulate complex scenarios with greater fidelity, but their value is limited if they fail to address the core needs of the training audience. It is essential to define clear objectives and align technological investments with outcomes that directly translate to mission success. This is the core of exercise design which cannot be achieved using computer based tools alone. Equally important is the human element of training. Expertise in scenario development, facilitation, and assessment ensures that technology enhances, rather than overwhelms, the learning experience. Investment in personnel and supporting processes is as vital as investment in equipment. A well-designed training program, guided by experienced professionals, can often achieve more than an expensive system implemented without proper alignment to objectives. Ultimately, the success of any training initiative lies in its ability to prepare individuals and teams for real-world challenges. By focusing on outcomes and placing training value at the forefront, organizations can ensure that resources are used effectively to build readiness and capability, rather than simply acquiring the latest technological advancements. This approach not only maximizes the return on investment but also delivers meaningful, mission-driven results. In short as much as we seek advanced technologies it is imperative we do not overlook human capital.

Many organisations rely on off-the-shelf (large library) training for their employees. While this approach works for generic topics, it often falls short in several key areas: ❌ Not Branded: Off-the-shelf training lacks your organisation's unique branding. ❌ Not Tailor-Made: These solutions aren't customised to reflect your specific policies, procedures, and direction. ❌ No Flexibility: You can’t easily make changes or additions to the content. ❌ Language Limitations: Adapting the training to different languages can be challenging. ❌ Engagement Issues: Often, these trainings are generic and can be boring, making them less relevant to your team. On the other hand, Custom E-learning offers a solution that is perfectly aligned with your organisation’s needs: ✅ Highly Interactive: Custom e-learning is designed to be engaging and interactive, making learning more enjoyable and memorable. ✅ Tailored Content: We use your own policies, procedures, and brand guidelines to create bespoke training modules. ✅ Flexibility: Easily update and modify content as your organisation evolves. ✅ Multilingual Support: Seamlessly redevelop modules into multiple languages to support diverse teams. ✅ Invest in Employees: Show your team that you are committed to their development with high-quality, relevant training. In summary, while off-the-shelf training can serve a purpose, it often isn't the best solution for companies serious about effective training. Custom e-learning is the ultimate solution to ensure your training is impactful, engaging, and aligned with your organisational goals. Curious to see how custom e-learning could benefit your organisation? Let’s jump on a call and I can show you some of our incredibly custom built e-learning modules.
