Did you know that for over a decade, we've been working with service providers to improve disability employment practice where it matters - at the client interface? We leave compliance training to others and focus on person-centred practice that aligns service provision with the needs of participants and employers. Our programs are recognised globally and focused. Importantly, we can tailor training to your needs by drawing on our extensive resource bank. Where necessary, we'll research and develop a program in response to feedback from the field from service providers and our field staff who deliver employment via our highly specialised Customised Employment program. We're not sandstone people who admire problems for a living; we're practitioners and researchers who do the work daily. Even our research staff work with clients in the field, supporting employment outcomes. Real-world experience, real-world evidence, real-world training and development. https://lnkd.in/gbgNCYSw #customisedemployment #disabilityemployment #des #ndis #ade #discovery #intellectualdisability #asd #cderp #cderpcollege #workfirst #glidein #drpetersmith #customisedemploymenttraining

So many businesses report that they are negatively impacted by a staffing shortage despite active recruitment drives. However, according to a report by The European Commission it showed that Ireland had one of the lowest employment rates for people with disabilities in the EU (26.2% compared to 48.1 % in the EU). In Ireland, people with disabilities are more than twice as likely to be unemployed, despite the valuable skillset present within this cohort. The lack of awareness of inclusive practices within recruitment drives, together with misconceptions from employers which often presume that hiring someone will cost them too much in time and monetary expenses, results in reduced opportunities for both the disabled candidate and the employer. Disability Awareness Training, is not only for businesses who have disabled employees, it also provides opportunities for employers to learn about recruiting and onboarding of disabled employees and assists to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. AbilityWise training is recognised by the Department of Social Protection who provide between 80 and 90% funding to businesses in the private sector to undertake our training. The theme for Learning Disability Week 2024 is "Do you see me?" It is all about being seen, heard and valued - a positive message that has been created by people with a learning disability to build a movement of change. As an employer, it is important to consider the benefits of continual learning and development and focus on the capacity to learn, how we can be great lifelong learners and the importance of connection and community for empowered people and dynamic organisations. To ensure that employees’ learning, and growth have an impact in the workplace, it is important to link training activities to organisational goals, alongside employee needs and aspirations. And it helps make sure your team can confidently support job seekers…which leads to employment success stories! Our trainers love the group dynamics of in-person training. But they know how to inspire and motivate a group of ES pros virtually, too! We limit online group size to 10, to help make sure everyone has a great interactive learning experience. [Image Description] A group of 5 individuals are standing and smiling at the camera. One person is holding a take-out coffee cup. Another person is clutching a notepad and pen in their hand. They are all dressed business casual. The individual in front has their arm extended, as if reaching out to shake someone’s hand. The four individuals behind the first person are blurred in soft focus. Superimposed over the bottom of the photo there’s a purple banner stripe. White text against the purple says Employment Service Training.
