Member Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc. has secured a $303.5 million loan guarantee by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to expand its manufacturing capacity to 8 GWh of capacity by 2027. The loan guarantee will support the production of Eos’ zinc-based batteries by facilitating construction of four fully automated manufacturing lines, with one line already in commercial operation. “The DOE loan provides capital to scale our operations to meet the surging demand for reliable, long duration energy storage solutions, all while supporting American manufacturing,” said Joe Mastrangelo, Eos Chief Executive Officer. The expansion is expected to create and sustain up to 1,000 temporary and permanent jobs, including apprenticeship opportunities through Eos’ Clean Energy Careers Program. To learn more, click below:

Here’s a great education story: Texas produces the most wind power in the US. The number of jobs in wind energy, in Texas alone, is forecast to grow 83% by 2028. High growth + high demand = students having a great time. Colleges can’t produce graduates fast enough. Texas State Technical College has a “Wind Energy Technology” programme that costs no more than $13,920 for a 1-year associate degree. But it sets students up for: *a near-100% employability rate *a minimum $52,000 entry role on graduation *job offers from companies like GE *before* they graduate A few years in industry and Wind Energy Project Managers earn a median salary of $130,000 😂 What a perfect example of how education can meet the needs of local demand. A great start for students. A stable talent pipeline for business. Top stuff from higher ed.

With Green Careers Week here, there's never been a better time to explore the UK's booming renewable energy sector! From new opportunities to make a positive impact to a thriving job market, the momentum around green careers is exciting. Renewable energy now powers close to half of the UK's electricity (currently 43%), and as we push toward net-zero by 2050, demand for skilled people is only growing. This shift is creating diverse roles from engineering to project management and finance. At Rullion, we're seeing this shift firsthand. Partnering with the UK's top renewable energy companies, we've watched applications for green roles double in just a few years. Young people are drawn to purpose-driven careers, and experienced professionals from traditional industries are finding their skills easily transferable to green jobs. For many in sectors like oil and gas, the switch is easier than expected. With up to 2 million jobs expected in the UK green economy by 2030, now is the time to step into a future-focused career. Whether you're launching your career or bringing experience from another field, green jobs offer the chance to help build a sustainable future.

Next year will be the 3rd edition of the excellent Supply Chain Impact Statement from Scottish Renewables, where they feature a number of case studies about businesses all over Scotland involved in renewable energy. We have just submitted our entry for the 2024-25 issue. What do we feel makes FoundOcean a strong contender? 3️⃣ Being one of the three founding members of the now ten-strong Venterra Group 🇺🇸 🇹🇼 Our work this year taking us to both the USA and Taiwan – and opening a new equipment base in Taiwan 👷👷♀️👷👷♀️ Doubling our headcount over the last two years 🔧 Feeling very proud of our apprenticeship scheme, with four apprentices currently at different stages of their journey 🙋♂️ Our site visit by Gillian Martin, MSP and Scottish Minister for Climate Action 📞 New enquiries about how FoundOcean can support carbon capture projects and green hydrogen production This is such an exciting time to be involved in renewables! The businesses featured can range from obvious services like vessels or subsea tech to the less so, such as The Old Library in Eyemouth, a ‘home from home’ set up for workers who need to stay up in the Scottish Borders for the construction of the EDF Renewables and ESB Neart Na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore wind farm and maintenance base! What a great way to support and showcase a fantastic range of businesses across our nation. The publication won’t be out till next Spring, but meanwhile there are some other great resources worth a look on their website, such as the ‘Renewable Energy in Numbers’ diagrams. https://lnkd.in/g-Fw3je #ScottishRenewables #RenewableEnergy #Scotland

I am delighted to share that I have started an internship at TotalEnergies as a B2B Strategy and Marketing Intelligence Analyst! 📊 At the heart of my role, I analyze client-specific challenges in their decarbonization strategies to identify opportunities for multi-energy projects and propose low-carbon solutions such as Solar & Wind PPAs, SAF, EV Charging, Grid Power, BESS, Biogas, CCS and Hydrogen. ⚡️ I am truly inspired by the opportunity to contribute to the energy transition while gaining new skills and conducting detailed market intelligence analyses across various segments. This involves tracking emerging trends, regulatory updates, new partnerships, and identifying potential opportunities or threats. 🔎 Looking forward to continue learning and connecting with others to explore opportunities for advancing my career while contributing to a sustainable future. 🌍 I deeply appreciate the knowledge and expertise shared by TotalEnergies and IFP School during this journey. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this achievement! 💚 #TotalEnergies #IFPSchool #EnergyTransition #Renewable #Energy #Sustainability #B2B #MarketingIntelligence #MarketAnalysis #Economics #Trading #PPAs #Solar #Wind

Enabling energy industry workers to move between different parts of the UK’s and the east of England’s increasingly diverse sector has long been a priority for the industry. Making the most of the transferable skills our offshore workforce has built throughout more than half a century to be drawn upon by new industries taking us to a low carbon future is crucial. Skills and job creation is one of EEEGR (East of England Energy Group)’s 5 Core Principles and one we have identified as a priority for 2025, so today’s news of the Energy Skills Passport is welcome news for our members and the energy workforce across the country. We echo all our partners, including Offshore Energies UK, RenewableUK and the Offshore Wind Industry Council: This collaborative approach will enable our skilled offshore workers to make informed decisions and make use of all the expertise and ambition to build our cleaner energy future. We commend our member companies for successfully navigating the energy transition by adapting their services from oil and gas to renewables and developing their own multi skilled apprenticeships so their workforce can move seamlessly between sectors.

The DOE's National Renewable Energy Laboratory released a report detailing critical strategies to address the impending shortage of wind energy workers. The report includes surveyed of students, businesses, employees, and training programs to identify solutions to the hiring challenges in the wind sector. The report advocates for increased collaboration between industry and education to raise awareness of wind energy career opportunities and establish effective internship and apprenticeship programs. Without proper action, the demand for wind energy workers is projected to surpass the available workforce, resulting in a significant gap by 2030. The report communicates the urgent need to implement proactive measures to ensure a diverse wind energy workforce for the future. #CleanEnergy #Wind https://lnkd.in/gXhT-dHN

Just took a read through OW Ocean Winds' submission to the Scottish Affairs Committee looking at GB Energy and the Net Zero Transition, and as a Renewables recruiter, the following points stood out: * We need to stop focusing purely on STEM students when looking at the future of our renewable workforce - many careers and apprenticeships can be fostered outside of the classic science and engineering-led positions. * Oil & Gas workers can be reskilled due to the various similarities in certain positions. However, investment is needed here, as the roles are not like-for-like. There is also a shortfall in the number of projected renewables vacancies and the number of active roles in the O&G sector. * That being said, there is a need for the government to actively incentivise the recruitment of O&G workers by companies in the renewables sector * The supply chain & logistics teams currently serving the O&G sector will be impacted the least through the transformation due to the ability to pivot to support the roughly similar needs to the renewable sector. * Things need to change throughout the workforce recruitment and training cycle, which will heavily rely on the communication and coordination of the government, unions, and training partners All in all, a hugely interesting document, and one I recommend looking at (it's only 10 pages!). You can find it here: https://lnkd.in/dKC7N8jB #renewables #offshore #greenenergy #windenergy #green #recruitment
