I’m excited to share my recent passion project, which I've been working on over the past few months. MR.VELOUS — https://mrvelous.app/ is an open-source web viewer for exploring medical images with style and ease. One of the main goals was to harness the potential of Svelte 5, leveraging its cutting-edge features to craft cleaner, more efficient code and deliver a seamless user experience. 🤔 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲? MR.VELOUS stands for "MR Viewer with Enhanced Layout and Optimized User Satisfaction." Here are my final thoughts on Rokid Max and where it’s currently at as far as spatial computing for productivity: it’s got a lot potential, but it’s not ready right now. As for entertainment, the Rokid station is awesome and a lot of fun for watching movies, live TV, and music. What it can do better for spatial computing: Make it easier to access multi-monitor setups with 3dof/6dof. Allow for resizing, repositioning, and pinning screens without having to resort to downloading third party software like GingerXR. Blurry corner text also cause eye strain. When paired with Remote Desktop apps like @anydesk, the Rokid Max becomes a very compelling AR technology product which early adopters can appreciate. It works. You can leave your laptop at home and use your Rokid AR glasses and station with a foldable keyboard at a Starbucks. ☕️ For the mainstream adopter, wait a little longer for the next gen Rokid AR Lite + Studio, and the highly anticipated @ImmersedVR @VisorXR. Hopefully by then the tech will be more ready with all the kinks ironed out. #SpatialComputing is here to stay and will change how we do biz. https://lnkd.in/eH39JjPe

Today, a very interesting news highlight caught my interest: The announcement of the Spacetop G1 by Sightful. If you haven’t read about it yet (you should), it is a screenless laptop relying on AR glasses for a virtual workspace, which is a bold step into the future of mobile computing.  A 100-inch virtual display that adapts to any environment sounds versatile, freeing us from our 13-inch laptop screens. 𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲, 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄: - Mobile Productivity Boost: Developers will be able to code on a virtual screen anywhere they go – on a plane, at a coffee shop, or even outdoors, offering a new level of freedom and flexibility. - AR Integration: The potential for integrating AR directly into the workflow is exciting - being able to overlay design mockups onto real-world objects or manipulate 3D models in a spatial environment Overall, the Spacetop G1 is a fascinating concept and while there may be challenges to overcome, it's a glimpse into what the future of tech might hold.  I'm eager to see how this technology evolves and how it impacts the app development landscape.
