-WE ARE HIRING- This is a full-time role for a Facade Design Egnineer. The Facade Design Engineer will be responsible for : • Review client / consultant inputs, identify the scope of works and design requirements. • Designing and creating shop drawings for the façade of buildings, including cladding and glazing. • Propose suitable aluminium systems/designs in line with customer requirements, project specifications and design intent. • Ensure compliance to project and performance requirements. Prepare & deliver design proposals, cutting lists, fabrication and erection drawings. • The Facade Designer will work closely with other members of the design and engineering teams to ensure that all designs are accurate and meet the specific project requirements. Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering 3-6 years relevant experience within the aluminium and steel facade industry. • Strong knowledge and experience in Facade Design, ano Facade systems. Organized and structured approach to workload & management of multiple inquiries • Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, and other 3-D modeling tools • Excellent technical and mathematical skills. • Experience in Cladding and Glazing systems. • LOGIKAL experience is a plus. • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and blueprints. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience working on international projects is a plus. **The Unrealistic Expectations Placed on Architects: A Message to Hiring Officers and Universities** After five grueling years of study, architects are often expected to master an exhaustive list of skills and software: AUTOCAD, SKETCHUP, LUMION, ENSCAPE, 3DSMAX, CORONA, VRAY, GRASSHOPPER, RHINO, REVIT, MICROSTATION, CINEMA 4D, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP, ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR, and ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS. Not just familiarity, but proficiency is demanded. Additionally, architects must know cost estimation, produce high-quality renderings, create 3D animations, understand MEP guidelines and building by-laws, and have comprehensive material knowledge. They are expected to be plumbers, electricians, mechanics, carpenters, civil engineers, construction supervisors, and more. This includes managing projects, complying with regulations, incorporating sustainable design, excelling in communication, and having business acumen. Despite these expectations, architects often face low salaries, both globally and in Pakistan, where the average is PKR 50,000 to 80,000 per month.
