Day 108/132 - CFA Level 1 August 🔸 I revised the economics section and solved questions from Kaplan's 25th Hour book. During this process, I marked some questions wrong due to misunderstandings of basic concepts. Solving questions is crucial for preparation. 🔸 I plan to wrap up all the readings in a few days, then start taking mocks. I will also do a combined review of all topics several times before the exam date. #CFA #Level1 #Finance #FinancialModelling #FSA #Ethics #Mocks

I'm nearing the end of my next CIMA module - Fundamentals of Business Economics, and it’s almost time to dive into revision mode! To be honest, I’ve enjoyed the second half of the module a bit more, especially when we got into discounting, investment appraisal, and forecasting - definitely more up my street compared to the pure abstract theory of economics in the first half! 🙃 Now it's all about gearing up for the upcoming exam and time to crack open that exam prep kit! Wish me luck! 🤞💪 #CIMA #StudyMode #BusinessEconomics #FinanceJourney #ExamPrep

To be honest, with some perspective, the CFA is not a certification that requires a high level of math. I love math and often marvel at the geniuses like Cauchy, Laplace, Gauss, and many others. The main point of the CFA is to help you secure a job in finance without needing a PhD in mathematics. The CFA Institute provides this opportunity without the hefty tuition fees associated with elite universities. When I began writing these short posts and organizing webinars on accessible quantitative finance, many specialists warned me: "Quantitative finance is not the CFA." Maybe so, but I still find it challenging to teach specific topics within the curriculum because it is so practical and interdisciplinary. You really need to understand the big picture and not get lost in the details. If you land a job in finance that doesn’t require a PhD in physics or math, focus on the big picture and connecting the dots. The goal is to help you make money, not to be a genius. Just my thoughts. #CFA #FinanceJobs #MathLovers #QuantitativeFinance #FinancialCertification #BigPictureThinking #CareerInFinance #FinanceEducation #PracticalSkills #FinanceGoals #MakeMoney #ConnectTheDots

One of the first topics that high school students learn about in economics class is opportunity cost. By making frequent good choices with our resources, it allows us to make fun decisions with less stress. Some students find it funny to learn that such a simple idea helps form the basis of an entire field of study, but upon further inspection, we use the concept of opportunity cost every day! Help your students to become familiar with topics like opportunity cost by enrolling them in the Financial Literacy Competition (FLC), hosted by SAF in partnership with Sagen, this May 8 and 9. Registration is now open: https://bit.ly/3qcqKhz #UWaterloo #FinancialLiteracyFriday #FinancialLiteracy #OpportunityCost

Knock Knock, CFA Level III Exams are just around the corner 🥳 Here are quick tips 💯 that helped me: :) It All Comes Together 3️⃣ In the first two exams, you were asked to describe and analyze. For Level III, you need to justify your thinking by synthesizing information and applying solutions. Expect a strong emphasis on portfolio management and wealth planning. :) Be Mindful of Time 🕰️ Plan how much time you can dedicate to each answer and stick to it. If you get stuck on a question, move on to one you feel more confident about. You can return to any skipped questions if you have time left. :) Understand the Format of Essay Questions 📝 There are two types of essay questions—constructed responses (word-based) and calculation-based responses. Start framing your study around these formats now. Utilize practice quizzes and mock exams from the Learning Ecosystem to gauge your readiness. :) Provide Exactly What is Asked For (And No More) 💯 You don’t get extra credit for writing a lot. Excessive prose can hurt your score. Be concise and to the point. Bullet points are acceptable. CFA Level III Exam Essay Strategies ✍️- https://lnkd.in/gT3sgZqw :) Answering Calculation Questions 🧮 For calculation-based questions, you don’t need to show your work unless you want to. If you do, it will be evaluated as part of your response and could result in partial credit if the final answer is not completely correct. :) Essential Items to Bring ✅ - Valid international travel passport - Approved calculator Best of luck to everyone preparing! Stay focused and confident :) #CFA #CFALevelIII #Education #Career #Careers #Exam #ExamWarrior
