We have developed a tire-gasgenerator® that can convert tires into fuel for gas engines or turbine power generators, creating syngas devoid of sulfur and tar.
Transforming plastic and tire waste into energy sources like heating oil, diesel, barbecue coke, and syngas for electricity generation is a clever way to repurpose waste into energy.
Presentation of a new design and construction gas generator that produces almost tar-free synthesis gas with a tar level of 5-10 mg/Nm3.
I designed my syngas generator® to produce fuel for gas engine power generators. A critical aspect of gasification is that only pyrolyzed coal (from RDF, plastic, tires, etc.) can be converted into a grade suitable for gas engines. The process includes the filtration of tar from the synthesis gas using the resulting pyrolytic coal, and then the gasification of the pyrolytic coal enriched with tar.
Our innovation in environmental protection involves microwave technology
The primary benefit of microwave steam plasma reactors is the absence of nitrogen in the water vapor plasma, resulting in only oxygen and hydrogen. Consequently, there is no nitrogen oxide in the output, which is far more toxic than carbon monoxide, no sulfur dioxide due to ceramic filters with adsorbents, minimal carbon dioxide, and odorless emissions.
Introducing hydrogen into the reaction space with microwave steam plasma reduces the formation of gaseous sulfur, phosphorus, and free chlorine, which can be eliminated in the gas cleaning unit. Microwave steam plasma's interaction with chlorine-containing substances prevents the production of dioxin, one of the most toxic compounds.
Generally, an atmospheric plasma source in microwave plasma is based on a specially designed microwave cavity. Microwaves are introduced into the plasma source, leading to a high field concentration at the cavity's center, facilitating high-speed plasma chemistry.

Our automated feeder control system uses WEG Europe & Middle East and Middle East’s VSDs and Technidrive TD08 80GHz radar sensors to precisely adjust feeder speeds in real-time, optimising material flow, reducing wear and preventing overfilling. This not only boosts efficiency and product quality but also increases safety by reducing manual intervention.
As global demand for construction materials grows, automation is key to sustainable mining operations.

As part of PERSEPHONE Mining, an ongoing Horizon-RIA Project in which we are proud to participate, Dr. Panagiotis Koustoumpardis and his team from the Robotics Group at the University of Patras visited our underground Koutzi mine, during which underground 3D geodetic measurements were carried out using the robotic dog GO2.
The collateral benefits of cutting-edge technologies in underground mining were recently presented by George Bourmas, our Koutzi Μine Operations Manager, during the Greek Mining Enterprises Association event in Drama.
In his own words, “The universal use of electricity in all phases of work requires a careful modification of traditional underground mining methods and appropriate planning to accommodate the new type of equipment. Leveraging these technologies in underground mining guarantees maximum safety for workers, which is the primary goal of Grecian Magnesite.”
