GLOBAL AND DOMESTIC SAND SHORTAGE CRISES WILL AFFECT CRUSHING AND SCREENING AS YOU CURRENTLY KNOW IT........ (see links below) I have posted recently about how open and closed circuit portable plants greatly outproduce their track mounted counterparts offering up to and sometimes more than twice the TPH as the equivalent track equipment. Of course the more TPH the less cost per ton. Consider how the sand shortage crisis will affect your operations if it has not already. More and more, we see that concrete rubble destined for base materials/aggregates is now processed in to manufactured sand. Europe which has always been ahead of the curve in recycling is now processing over 80% of concrete rubble into sand. Two of the leading manufacturers of crushing equipment is "pushing" their roll crushers because of the demand for sand. The perception is that roll crushers are the best option to make sand. ARE they? Their acquisition cost is very high in relation to the TPH. Computer simulations do in fact show roll crushers edging out other methods but that is only part of the story. It may be hard to argue against fixed plant roll crushers dedicated to the same feed type, feed speed, and gradation, but what about on site crushing to make sand? The best solution may be a portable cone vs a portable roll crusher. Why? The roll crusher will be dedicated to making only sand. If you have the right portable cone crusher one can change head/liner configurations and change speeds to go from making aggregates, base materials, or sand. We believe that the portable cone crusher is more adaptable to a wide variety of applications and site conditions than a roll crusher. "On paper" the roll crusher may edge out the a cone crusher in production but it is not as versatile. Hydraulic track mounted equipment is a huge challenge to try and make sand as they generally have limited head/liner configurations, less efficiency due to hydraulics vs electric, and lack of shaft speed adjustments necessary for efficiently making sand. I believe it is almost impossible to get anything close to the necessary TPH to justify the owning and operating expense. We believe there is and will be a fast growing trend to portable plants that offer a wide variety of applications solutions making aggregates and including making sand. As that sand market grows, the track mounted market will shrink with more and more competitors vying for a shrinking market for track mounted crushers. Just consider that one day track equipment will not be used in recycle because of the demand for sand so what is left is just site development and other small volume projects. It also has our new Clam Shell design for Pughead; it is fitted with same high drive and production capabilities of PS Pughead with added benefits of ease of cleaning and maintenance with hyd operated clam shell doors. The new quoted price on the unit include the Clam Shell doors and 162Kw engine upgrades which were previous options yet are now included in quoted price. Like outlined, the on-board load cells are important to machine’s (Pugmill with additive bin) functionality. These load cells work with and talk to the PLC system to monitor and record volume of material going up the belt, speed up and slow down water pump accordingly to add correct percentage to material and ensure material blends are correct and recorded for Main Roads spec For this application, blending aggregates, mining slag and dried tailings as a finished blended product at 80% Solids was calculated as 2460 Tonnes in initial 12-hour shifts; keep an eye out for more videos and information for this and other Blending projects over the next few weeks.

Alok Stone Crusher Boosts Sand Production with Taurian CycloTwin Technology With the implementation of Taurian's CycloTwin wet processing technology, Alok Stone Crusher in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, India, is now producing two grades of sand – fine (0 – 1.5mm) and coarse (0 – 5mm).
