Developing Your Mission Now that you have determined what is valued; you need to set the course on how you will arrive at your destination. This is where the Mission Statement comes into action. It will answer the question “Where are we going?” Aubrey in his book “The Nuts and Bolts of Church Planting” states that the importance of a Church’s Mission; dictates direction, focuses function, predicts the future, provides boundaries for disciple making, inspires unity, shapes strategy, enhances effectiveness, provides the church with a cause, gives clear focus and facilitates evaluation. (pg 85) So do you know where you are going? Be sure to continue to work through the Mission statement that provides direction for your church plant.
