The recently closed AFWERX Open Topic cycle offered an exciting opportunity for innovators to collaborate with the #AirForce and tackle critical challenges. However, small businesses must recognize the competitive nature of this process and understand the importance of a robust funding strategy. #Startups and small businesses were invited to submit proposals aimed at enhancing the Air Force's capabilities in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, space operations, advanced materials, and human performance. Discussions indicate that the likelihood of being selected is around 1%, based on the volume of submissions and historical selection averages. Therefore, it is crucial for startups to develop a comprehensive #fundingstrategy that includes multiple opportunities to increase their chances of advancing their technology and capabilities. By diversifying their approach and exploring various funding avenues, small businesses can better position themselves for success in future AFWERX cycles and other #innovation programs.

With institutions like CASA - Cluster of Excellence, #HGI, #MPISP, and several tech companies, startups and the Bochum Wirtschaftsentwicklung, Bochum is one of the world's leading hubs in cyber security. This year, Cube 5 made significant strides by joining forces with RWTH Innovation and TU concept GmbH to establish the #6GEMCubator, supporting cutting edge communication tech startups. It's super exciting to be a part of it. As we move forward, my clear priorities for the coming period are: - 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝘂𝗯𝗲 𝟱'𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: We aim to provide even more tailored support to startups and push Cube 5 to evolve as an incubator. - 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: Fostering new connections, deepening existing ones, and working collaboratively to strengthen Bochum and Germany's position as a leading innovation hub. Let’s connect! Glück auf! ⚒️🚀🔐 #Cybersecurity #Innovation #Cube5 #Bochum PS: I'm still pursuing my passion for research as a post-doc at MPI-SP (50%), continuing my work in FPGA security, which remains close to my heart.
