The IIA, in its new Global Audit Standards, will be mandating adoption of Technical Requirements when published. This is a very bad idea for several reasons that I share in this video, including the consensus of #chiefauditexecutive in the Audit Leader Forum™ from our call last week, and my own personal opinions. Going down this route will not only lead to fewer #internalaudit groups following the standards, but will jeopardize the reputation of internal audit with executives and other professionals.
