My question of the day: What constitutes a "senior" writer role? I see this frequently in job descriptions. Is it a time-based thing? I have been writing for X number of years, so I am a senior writer. It is an experience-based title? I have written for X, Y, and Z companies, plus I have 10 highly sought-after skills even though I've only been writing for 3-5 years. Is it just an industry term used to describe pay level such as "entry" level, which usually means a lower-paying role? A few days back I announced a challenge, where whoever would win would get ₹20,000. What happened next will give you the reality check that you need. So a total of 500 people filled up the form. Out of that we selected around 300 people and told them to do an assignment. Out of that, guess how many people did it in the said deadline? (48 hours) 25. Rest were either late or didn’t do it. My problem with this is that I’ve read so many LinkedIn posts of people complaining that there aren’t many opportunities and that people don’t pay enough money etc etc But we did both. In fact we are even willing to hire 4-5 more content writers. The problem with this generation is that we’re all very lazy. And somehow we’ve convinced ourselves that being lazy is okay. Put in the work. All the success stories that you read online? They all put in the work. If you’re talented, there’s no way you won’t do well in life (unless of course if you don’t put it in the work) Any other founder relate to this?
