On 26 August 2024, Australia took a significant step forward by enacting the "right to disconnect" legislation, giving employees the legal right to disengage from work communications outside of standard hours. While it's hailed as a win for work-life balance, it poses challenges for businesses that prioritise flexibility. Employers now face new complexities in managing communication and responsiveness, especially in industries requiring after-hours coordination. As a leader with employees across multiple businesses, Paradise Charnock Hing always prioritised work-life balance, offering paid leave beyond the statutory minimum and supporting personal matters.
