My analysis of Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)'s World Giving Index shows an 11% increase in people giving to charities since 2010-2019. The majority of countries with high giving rates are in the Global North but their growth since COVID-19 has been stagnant, if not declining. Instead, a 55% rise in Global South giving, with extraordinary growth in giving across Africa and Asia since COVID-19, is leading the way.
