The Federal Reserve's recent reduction in interest rates is a calculated reaction to economic difficulties, especially the potential for a recession 📈 The goal of lowering rates is to encourage borrowing and expenditure, which will benefit both consumers and companies. By facilitating credit accessibility, promoting investment, and promoting consumer confidence, this monetary policy seeks to enhance economic growth. The Fed's commitment to alleviating economic downturns is highlighted by the correlation between interest rate adjustments and a potential recession, which underscores the uncertainty surrounding these periods. 📉 In order to plan strategically and make the best financial decisions possible in a changing economic environment, organisations must comprehend the nature of this dynamic. 💵 #interestrates #economics #investment #federalreserve #finance #trading #whatwillthemarketdo #openfordiscussion

The fog of near-term events is creating some murkiness about future direction of the U.S. economy and financial markets. The U.S. election, mixed economic data and continued geopolitical developments could impact currents in different directions. It is expected that at least one of these items, the U.S. election will bring some clarity soon. Financial markets took a bit of breath in October as well since both U.S. equities and fixed income suffered slight losses in October. Interest rates are most interesting as we have the Federal Reserve easing rates on the short end while the markets are raising yields on the long end. Interesting point for discussion indeed - when should the Fed start cutting rates and where should they then stop. Would think the start is more important and needs to be soon. As to the terminal rate, clearly needs to be far higher than the last decade's average for corporate leverage to come down albeit stay at sensible levels. The elephant in the room is the rising sovereign leverages - is it the source of the next crisis to come 🤔
